S95F worse motion interpolation that 2018 C8???
Hey guys. I bought myself a new 77 inch samsung S95F, coming from a 55 inch LG C8 from 2018. I could not find a good price for the LG or sony so I went for the samsung.
A quirk of mine is i absolutely love the “soap opera effect” and motion smoothness. So I always turn the de-judder to 10 on every TV. (dont hate me)
I watched the movie Babylon (2022) last night on the new S95F in 4k hdr bluray. I was really excited but it had a lot of bad artifacts during fast panning shots. There is one in the beginning of the movie where the camera pans to an elephant and literally half the screen is shaking for a split second. I tried to ignore them thinking it is a very fast paced movie compared to most and it might be normal. THIS ARTIFACT IS STILL VERY VISIBLE AT 3/10 DEJUDDER!!!!!!!
Then I went and put on the movie in my old c8 from 2018 out of curiosity. I am absolutely devastated. There are no artifacts in the panning shots and the movement is smooth. Not a single artifact in the elephant scene either. I had to double check the motion settings as I could not believe it, and yes the de-judder was on 10 as I always watched it.
HOW can something like this be possible. I am really heartbroken, a 7 years newer flagship model vs a midrange oled, i expected it to blow it out of the water in every aspect.
Now i know most people dislike motion settings, but are there people like me who like it that faced these issues? What should i do? Do you have any recommandations of content to compare these two tvs further in artifacts? Maybe in some content the samsung performs better and the lg worse? I also saw a VERY bad artifact at some point watching Barbie on the samsung, im afraid to put it on the lg now but i will do it lol
I know the usual sentiment that samsung has the worse processing but it shouldnt be on this level. Most reviews say its great. Does anyone have some insight on this issue? I still got like 2 more weeks to return it but wouldnt want to rush my decision
