Finally decided to try one of the current-gen rubber straps with deployant clasp on my 2531.80. It’s quite expensive compared to some aftermarket options, but it is definitely the highest quality clasp. I’ve tried so far.

Great designs. Quality has been improving over the last several years. I own Timex watches and I like them. But none of that changes what they actually are.
Their entire mechanical lineup runs stock Miyota and Seagull movements. No in-house calibers. No meaningful modifications. That is the exact same approach that gets Fossil, Michael Kors, and Hugo Boss labeled as fashion watches by this community. Timex just gets a pass because of heritage and a lower price point.
The same people who roast someone for wearing a Hugo Boss automatic will turn around and post a wrist shot of their Marlin like it’s a different category of product. It isn’t. A Miyota 8215 in a Timex case is the same proposition as a Miyota 8215 in a Fossil case. The logo on the dial doesn’t change what’s inside.
I’m not saying Timex makes bad watches. I’m saying the distinction between “watch brand” and “fashion brand” that this community loves to enforce falls apart the second you apply it consistently.
Trying out an Erika’s Original strap on my new Mark XX LPP! It is supremely comfortable and way less bulky than a traditional NATO strap.
