Do all these drones just kinda look like crap?

I bought a Potensic Atom 2 and I'm not real impressed with the image quality. It looks like dashcam in the sky. Is it possible to be satisfied with picture quality under $1000?

I'm aware the Atom 2 is an entry level drone, but it kinda looks like crap on anything bigger than a phone screen. It's also not just me either, the videos I've seen here seem to kinda support what I see.

Once you move past "oh hey I'm flying a drone, cool there's my house!" and look at the footage on a computer to edit, you can definitely tell it's not great.

I bought the Atom 2 because it seems to be roughly on par with the Mini 4K and also has the quickshots so I got it. I paid about $250 out the door for mine and I'm kinda wondering if I should just bite the bullet and go to a Mini 5 Pro.

I am kinda hoping for at least a iPhone 17 level quality image. I also wonder if I should just stick with the Atom 2 because of the price...

I have never owned a drone before four days ago. Got a super cheap one for looking at the roof. Before that even arrived I also bought an Avata 2. ;)

The Avata 2 showed up early this afternoon...opened and updated everything and was flying by dinner. Made this video to celebrate.

I've never flown FPV.

I've had the Avata 2 for less than 12 hours.

You are seeing footage from my very first two flights.

I haven't edited a video in over 15 years.

I've never used Davinci Resolve before now.

Love it.

I have no idea what I'm doing. Eventually I'll want this to actually look good (composition, clarity, color), but this is alright given my circumstances and it still being early spring. 😄

I'm very interested to hear from Avata 2 owners who bought a 360...which do you prefer.

I know that's a difficult question because they're very different. I'm looking to get my first FPV drone and was pretty set on the Avata 2. I kinda just want it for flying around.

I started seeing some of these videos made with the 360 and some of them seem pretty cool. The concept of just having the drone in the area and figuring out the shots in post does seem like a great idea. I do think the "FPV" part of the Avata 2 is still better though.

I wear glasses and am also conflicted between N3 & G3. I'm kinda thinking Avata 2 Fly Smart Combo with N3 & 3 batteries is the right move, but I'm all ears.
