Why MoneySplit stands out

Privacy-first by default: your financial records stay on your device unless you choose backup options.

Offline-first design: core tracking, review, and planning features work even without internet.

No forced sign-up wall for basic use.

Built for practical speed, not clutter.

Key Features:

  • Privacy by Default: No forced sign-ups. Your data stays on your phone.
  • Smart Import: Reads bank SMS alerts (verified for all Indian Banks) and PDF statements (with password support) (coming soon) to automate expense logging.
  • Bill & Subscriptions: Tracks your EMIs and recurring payments so you don't miss due dates.

Would love honest feedback.

  • What feels useful?
  • What’s missing for your daily use?
  • What would make you switch to this?

Yes this is 75% vibecoded, especially the UI part and the algorithms to derive insights out of spending.Being a backend engineer, I wanted to save time and money and hence vibecoding. It took me 5 months for first presentable version.

App tracks transactions via SMS if users opt in. Works for a lot of Indian banks. I am working on statement and receipt scan as well.

See where your money is going

Hey everyone! I wanted to share an app I’ve been building called MoneySplit. Despite the name, this app is intentionally designed to focus on tracking personal subscriptions, rather than split-bill capabilities.

My primary goal was to build something that respects user privacy by design, ensuring that zero data ever leaves the device. App doesnt track user behaviour as well.

Technical Highlights & Features:

  • Architecture: Built with Flutter, utilizing Drift (SQLite) for a robust, purely offline local database.
  • Privacy-First: 100% offline operations. No cloud syncing, no data harvesting.
  • UI/UX: Heavy focus on Material 3 Expressive design principles. I aimed for a clean, card-less interfaced featuring dynamic colors and smooth micro-animations.

Play Store Link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thegreatdanton.moneysplit.money_split

PS: UI is 90% vibe coded and core logic is implemented be me. I am backend engineer and hence jumped on AI bandwagon to speed up. It took me five months for this version.

I am working on statement scan, optional byok AI integration and budget sharing.
