what the HECK am I 😭

Hey y'all! After MONTHS of swatching, buying, trying, burning money, I am finally so happy with the foundations I have, but STILL don't know my damn undertone. Between neutral, warm, cool, olive, people have told me a bit of everything, so I had to come to the experts, aka YOU ALL!

NOTE: My face is extremely red, and I have beard on the jaw, so the tones on my face are pretty much useless. I still included photos with my face on it, but yeah. Also chest is so pale and I have such bad circulation that it also can look a bit red.

List of foundations on the swatch photos (from left to right, in case it helps)

  1. Maybelline Superstay LumiMatte - 090
  2. L'Oréal True match - 0D/W
  3. Sephora Reveal the Real skin tint - 100N
  4. L'Oréal Infallible 32h fresh wear - 010 Neutral
  5. Makeup Atelier HD airbrush foundation - AIR1Y Vanilla

What the heck am I? I am so confused, I'm cool in some brands, warm in others, neutral in others, and CONFUSED IN ALL!

Any feedback or tips is always appreciated! ❤️

Methodology for swatch photos was as follows:

  • Swatched onto neck, freshly shaved
  • Swatches are TO THE RIGHT of each brown line on my neck
  • Thin/realistic amount of product per swatch, blending it with my finger within the swatch to make it as realistic as possible to the usual application scenario
  • Waited 30 minutes for any oxidation to occur
  • Photos taken in daylight, end of day, sunny, first set of 3 on direct sunlight, and the next 3 indirect
  • Photos taken with the least processing on my iPhone I could get
  • White balance correction with the use of a white paper in frame and photoshop, saturation toned down on second set of photos

I'm FINALLY so happy with my foundation matches, here they are!

After MONTHS of swatching, buying, trying, burning money, I am FINALLY so happy with the foundations I have managed to match myself to, that I think it would be worthy to be shared here, since I am SO PALE beyond anyone's wildly imagination.

List of foundations (from left to right)

  1. Maybelline Superstay LumiMatte - 090
  2. L'Oréal True match - 0.5D/W
  3. Sephora Reveal the Real skin tint - 100N
  4. L'Oréal Infallible 32h fresh wear - 010 Neutral
  5. Makeup Atelier HD airbrush foundation - AIR1Y Vanilla

Are they perfect matches? Maybe not, but ya know, I'll take them! They blend down the neck pretty well, and end up being the best matches I've been able to collect along the last couple of months! All pretty cheap as well!

Any feedback or tips is always appreciated! Maybe tips on my undertone based on the red and blue swatches? And if I can be of help, let me know!
