Thoughts on Lawless blush in rosebud?

Thoughts on Lawless blush in rosebud?

Looking for my perfect blush shade (olive cool to neutral, feels like everything pulls orange on me) and stumbled across this one? Looks very similar to haus labs glassy hibiscus to me. Does anyone have experience with this color, or the blush in general? Its listed as cool but I almoooost wonder if it would still pull orange

The neverending Tinted SPF search is on…

Any recommendations for a tinted sunscreen that won’t look terrible on a cool-toned fair olive?

Ideally:

- at least SPF 50 (tretinoin life)

- iron oxides for HEV protection (hyperpigmentation issues)

- something not overly drying (most mineral sunscreens destroy my already dry skin)

- available in a physical store in the US (I know the filters are outdated, but I’m more concerned about stability vs overseas shipping/temperature issues)

At this point I feel like I’m chasing a unicorn.

Right now I’m using an imported Korean SPF + foundation combo, but it feels insufficient for summer, especially with more outdoor time and sweating.

Wedding in a month - would like to change my hair tone a bit to be more flattering

Genuinely not sure if I need warmer and richer, or cooler toned hair. I’m not sure this is my most flattering as it’s a little of both.

ISO a muted pink jelly polish in Europe

I’ve been looking for a jelly „deep-ish“ pink polish forever, but anything I try pulls either too white, too peachy, or is too saturated / bubble gum pink on me. I’ve seen some posts on here recommending cirque rosewater jelly or other stuff, but it’s not available in Europe. I’m also not the biggest fan of the essie formula, so not sure whether to invest in something like gossamer garments or bodice goddess just for it to pull too pink again 🥲 someone help me lol!

Included a pic of my hands with catrice sheer beauties „fluffy cotton candy“, which is too white for me (it’s nice but not the pink I’m going for) and a reference of what kind of look I’m trying to achieve.

What colour clothing do you wear most often?

I’m noticing a lot of selfies feature black clothing in this sub and it got me thinking because I wear a lot of black as my base colour too. Just wondering if it’s a thing with olives that black suits us?

Missha Perfect Cover BB cream No. 21

Whoever suggested this - thank you! I have very rarely found makeup that doesn't pull yellow, orange, or peach. It's so weird to put on a very grey makeup and watch it blend into my skin and not have that peach/pink chin and jaw that I'm used to.

Does anyone have similar recommendations? The no. 21 is great but it's just a hair too dark. Is there anything similar out there that's a bit lighter and maybe has more coverage?

The Missha has a lovely formula and I can live with it being too dark. However, I just found this sub (still not 100% if I'm olive) and the first recommendation I followed was fantastic (and only $15!). Really would like to hear what others love when it comes to foundation and concealer!

I Was Giving It One Last Shot…..

Being a fair olivish person with rosacea, I was finding it very difficult to find a decent ds foundation. Most were too yellow or too pink but, I gave L’Oreal Pro-Glow in 202 Creamy Beige a chance before I went higher end. I’m so glad I did. It looked far too grey for me in the tube but I thought, wth, give it a shot. FINALLY! I get that I must be muted. Sorry for the car pic but I’ll try to get some others later. Thanks for all your comments on here!!

I saw a girl with pretty olive legs...

Okay, so it appears my upper body is a light-medium cool olive tone, but my legs are this color? Sometimes they look pretty pink, so is it normal to have a lot of different colors on the body, or is it just that I don't see my olive tone in my legs? I wanted to add that the first photo was taken inside a car and the other one was taken inside in front of a window.

What are you thoughts?

Thank you.

Found a lovely eye shadow palette for fair olives 🫒

I hope this helps some people, as a lot of eyeshadow shades have made me look clown-like and unharmonious in the past.

Revolution “The Eternal Icon” Palette. £8.99 in Superdrug 🇬🇧

The mixture of figgy shades and olive shades in this palette, with both a matte and a shimmer finish, are taking my eyes to colour I never knew existed 😍🐍🫒🍇 i do need some plummy blush in these photos though and I’m not wearing any foundation x

Which blush for a neutral/cool olive?

I’m curious to try pat mcgrath’s powder blush formula and I’ve seen both of these shades in the olive subs but I can’t decide which one to try.

I think I’m a desaturated neutral/cool olive. Deep winter season has my best colors. I haven’t found a perfect foundation match yet. About face f2O is too saturated and Salt NY N13 is close but too light. I think I was wearing bareMinerals powder foundation in fairly-medium in this photo.

I was doubting myself. Then my room lighting humbled me.

Yes. Yes I am olive. My god, I look like a corpse!

Am I cool olive or warm olive though? The lighting in my room is cool white btw.

(Not sure what flair I should put, lemme know if I need to change the flair)

does anyone else feel devastated about not being able to wear certain colors?

i got into color analysis a while ago and even though it's not something i totally let dictate my style choices, it still makes me sad cause it confirmed my suspicions of what colors never look good on me. not being able to wear white or pastel colors without looking sickly always made me pretty sad and now i avoid them for the most part altogether :(( how do you guys cope with this sort of thing?

Cool olives’ best colors?

There’s a mix of muted and saturated shades in this palette.

I’m curious to see if you agree, or if you think some colors should or shouldn’t be included!

I’m also planning on making one for neutral and warm olives 🫶

Rhode Sleepy Girl but Powder?

Hi all,

I’m trying to find a similar powder blush shade for the rhode sleepy girl cream blush. Everything I have tried so far pulls too orange. Any suggestions? Apologies if this has been addressed.

I’ll be the first to admit it, I was so wrong about the Huda Beauty matcha powder 😔

Guys this is my formal mea culpa. I kinda shit on the expansion of all the baking powder colors but I decided to try the green one anyway. Oh my gosh, it totally balances out my redness in such a lovely way! In this photo I have the powder and then I also used some powder bronzer and blush, but I don’t have any other complexion products on. It just gives me this overall evenness to my skin and I don’t need to wear any foundation!

Extremely instructive post about foundation undertones

I came across this IG post from Anuschka Rees on IG discussing how cosmetic companies use overtones in their shade labeling. I’ll link the post in the comment.

It’s super interesting and touches a point I have mentioned a few times in my comments:

THERE 👏 IS 👏 NO 👏 INDUSTRY 👏 STANDARD 👏 WHAT 👏 IS 👏 COOL/WARM/NEUTRAL/OLIVE.

This is especially important to those of us who are relying on a foundation to classify ourselves as warm/cool/neutral/muted etc. Trying to fit yourself into a seasonal color by your best foundation match is not the way to go.

I hope everyone learns some new stuff from the post. I certainly did.
