I posted on the other fossil page about a ton of Ordovician fossils I saw this weekend. What is the one in the first pic?

I’ve added the other ones to give an idea of what is around it. Location: Ottawa ON

We came across a motherload of cephalopod fossils in a construction site. So many! There’s a big one in every rock in a giant pile. Bits of trilobites too and a few tiny snail shell looking things.

I’m curious about the orange “rust” that surrounds each one. Is that just from the fossilization process? Some kind of reaction to the silt that turned into shale?

My fave colour orchids cactus is getting ready for a big bloom. Here’s the first one

I just love the pink of this one so much. It’s so tropical! It’s gearing up for about 20 blooms. Can’t wait til they’re all out!

It’s baby animal season! Pls watch out for them

There’s a goose family that is literally living on the edge of the Vanier Parkway at RCMP. It stresses me out so much!!! lol

And it made me want to remind everyone that it’s baby season now and to keep your eyes peeled on the roads for the little ones. Geese, raccoons, groundhogs and all the other little critters will be out and about and don’t know how to be safe yet. Some of these are “nuisance “ animals and I get that they don’t garner a lot of goodwill but nothing makes me sadder than seeing a squashed baby squirrle. Or gosling.

Please keep our urban wildlife alive if you can. Some of them are annoying but they are part of our city too ❤️

Just found out this weekend we have a mama and little tiny babies living in the shed. Tonight I look out my back door to see a huge fuzzy butt sticking out of my green bin. Pizza slice retrieved!

I don’t want to encourage her to stick around after the babies are big enough to leave but what’s a good food I can share to help mama and keep her out of neighbours gardens?

Have you ever seen such a fat banjo cat??

This (I’m assuming) lady is PLUMP. Like she is 10 months pregnant with twins. Shes been like this forever and has no problem getting around. This is just her relaxed pose 🤣 babygirl doesn’t have swimming issues and is quite happy to sit in or on the sand but apparently ramming her girth into the swords brings her levels of satisfaction

I thrifted this last weekend because I love it. The shape, the colours, the matte glaze. I am probably searching the wrong terms, but I can’t seem to find anything similar. I tried image search but nothing came up. I think this might be studio pottery of some sort due to the mark on the bottom. I think it says Drown? Drouin? Not sure. Anyways if you recognize this pls let me know!

I’m playing around with this idea, I’ve got a waterfall keeping the weeping moss I stuck to the rock nice and moist. I put some rocks with terrestrial moss in there as well. If you look in pic 3 you can see there’s an area that’s open and I’d like to get something going in there that will stay very small. Like a Monte Carlo type of thing but I don’t have substrate besides rocks.

What would YOU put in there??

Size of the bowl is about 3 gallons filled to where I have it now.
