Before you ask, it is not gall! This is what happens when you turn your tubers into perennials. This is only viable for certain zones, I’m in zone 8b and average 60” of rainfall a year. And these still sprout very early, have an abundance of chonky stems, and push out a ridiculous amount of blooms.
These were actually self seeded about 5 seasons ago. We found them intertwined in the eucalyptus and have left them alone. I’ve since propagated them a bunch and we are experimenting with stabilizing (one) of the genes.
