How do you wait?

How do you cope with waiting? Are your thoughts or actions different if it is a good thing or a bad thing you are waiting for? If it is something you are excited about or worried about?

Do you distract yourself? Do you compartmentalise? Do you talk? Do you hide? Do you ruminate?

What do you do?

Capital review today

I updated my capital that had risen to just over 16k in a routine review. I didnt understand that a lifetime isa counted as capital until I asked the local charity. So I have had 15k in isa since started of claim 5 years ago.

I have been asked to attend capital review at local centre today with 3 months bank statements. I am terrified. What will happen to me?

I hope to start a new job in a couple of months too.

**Update - the person checking the statements said the system is telling me to close uc claim but he thought the lifetime isa should have a 25% disregard so has referred to a decision maker.

Im not good with uncertainty so what happens now?

On UC LWCRA since 2021 due to anxiety and depression. Last week I recieved a routine review. I phoned a local advice centre for support and they told me that Lifetime ISAs are savings.

I corrected this straight away through a change of circumstances form and have now been asked to come into the local office with 3 months of statements. Due to my mental health I struggle badly with face to face appointments, can I request a phone appointment instead?

The advice centre also told me that because I have had the Lifetime ISA since 2021 there will be an overpayment. I am really annoyed at myself for this mistake and struggling with anxiety over it all.

What I don’t understand is why they have only asked for 3 months of statements. Is it done in stages?

I have worked really hard to rebuild my life over the last few years and got a job offer last week too. Typical that my mistakes end up tinging the good. I understand overpayment consequences and will face it. I’m just worried about how long this process may take as I am concerned my mental health will not cope well with months of stress alongside a new job.

Has anyone been through similar and know roughly how long it may take?
