Need design advice
I’m starting this thread over so I can lay out the situation better.
I don’t currently live here yet, we are moving here in the summer.
We have a navy blue L shaped couch and will get other furniture after I’ve decided on what to change in the room. I have lots of art and will do mood lighting.
The only flooring in the whole house that’s been recently renovated is this floor so I’m not wanting to change it even though I don’t love it so I will probably put a very large rug in this room. Again, gonna decorate after the other things have been figured out.
The ceiling - I don’t love it but it’s not my priority right now.
The fireplace and bar - definitely keeping the bar, but I’d like suggestions on how to change the bar and fireplace or make them less noticeable. All the wood makes the room feel like a cave. I’m open to keeping the wood walls but SOMETHING major will need to be done about this ugly rock fireplace. The rock won’t look much better with a darker grout, bc the rocks are like perfect circular shapes that are too far apart and look like a child did them. Idk. I’m lost.
