Hello! My boyfriend and I are traveling from Louisville KY, to Santa Fe taking Route66 most of the way, and then traveling to northern Colorado. We have never been to New Mexico and we are super excited! I’ve always admired NM for its culture and history. What is the most iconic and must have restaurant/meal in the Santa Fe area? We’ve heard good things about the green chili burgers but I felt as if it would be best if we heard from the locals!
As well as just anything else we should see or do! We’ll only be there for about half a day, but we are big outdoors lovers and travel geeks so anywhere with good non-gimmicky souvenirs, or sights to see!

My boyfriend and I are traveling from Louisville KY, to Santa Fe NM, taking the iconic Route 66! Long story short, we are both lovers of the meats and the BBQs, and like to try BBQ from areas that are well known for it! (Kansas City, North Caroline, etc.)
I have done lots of googling but I figured it would be best to hear it from a local!
