My boyfriend and I are traveling from Louisville KY, to Santa Fe NM, taking the iconic Route 66! Long story short, we are both lovers of the meats and the BBQs, and like to try BBQ from areas that are well known for it! (Kansas City, North Caroline, etc.)
I have done lots of googling but I figured it would be best to hear it from a local!
As title says, possibly relocating to Amarillo in the next year to year and a half. Give me all the thoughts, sides of town I shouldn't look into, etc. it's just me and my partner we're in our mid twenties. Any information is helpful. Thank you
Do any city employees have any insight to the mess with our water bill increases? I saw the response from the City Manager today…
Listening to KGNC am this morning and Micheal J is talking to a group called Panhandle taxpayers for transparency (PT4T) and they discovered something. Apparently David Prescott has a company that was drilling wells (60) for Fermi and didn't disclose his business dealings with them before voting to approve the water project.
Hi! I’m from the metro area of NYC and am visiting my family this October in Amarillo. My cousin and I are gonna go on a hike in a canyon while I’m visiting, I think it was Palo Duro Canyon State Park. What critters can I expect to see (and not touch)? I’m really excited. I’m a big hiker and am only experienced with hiking the Catskills and Appalachian areas. I’ve never been out west before. The furthest I’ve traveled west was West Virginia (unrelated, it’s sooooo beautiful there). Thanks 🏜️🐎
Here's the thing: Amarillo is serious about fitness. We've got great gyms and active communities everywhere. But there's a huge gap—we can't actually support that commitment with decent grocery options for healthy eating.
I started a petition to bring Whole Foods to Amarillo because access to fresh, organic food shouldn't require a road trip. Right now, residents who want quality nutrition have to travel significant distances, which makes it nearly impossible to maintain healthy habits consistently. It's like building the foundation for a house and then forgetting the walls.
The data backs this up too. According to the USDA, convenient access to nutritious food is critical in fighting obesity and diet-related diseases—both real concerns in Texas. Studies show that when people have easy access to quality foods, they actually eat better long-term. Whole Foods could help bridge that gap, plus bring jobs and economic growth to our community.
If this matters to you too—if you've felt that frustration of wanting to eat well but struggling with what's available locally—consider signing and sharing. Our community deserves the chance to align our lifestyle with our values.
Noticed these guys outside of animal medical center off the blvd. There are less moving now compared to earlier.
Contact the clinic if interested in helping!

I live on Tascosa Road in the quail creek addition. We moved in January 2011. When we moved in we had a nice paved ally with a nice railroad tie wall to help with the noise from the road. In June of that year a wildfire came through and burned down most of the railroad ties and heavy trucks came through and buried the ties and tore up the asphalt. It’s been 15 years now and the burnt railroad ties and the city’s part of the ally has become a jungle. How/who can I get someone from the city to come clean it up and repair the asphalt?
I’ll be traveling with a car loaded with belongings from Phoenix and stopping in Amarillo (possibly). Is there a safe place to stay overnight that is pet friendly?
We are moving our accounts from Amarillo National Bank and are looking for a new bank. We prefer local but are open. Let me know why you love your bank!
I am potentially moving to Amarillo from Tulsa OK, and was curious which complexes were considered the nicer ones and where the nicer parts of town are. There is no budget, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There is a mechanic shop down on VFW called “The Mechanic Shop” the owner Steve is constantly on Facebook and TikTok bragging about his honest workmanship and dedication to customers. Here are some behind the scenes things you do not know. Steve has an extensive criminal record including attempted murder, multiple charges of first and second degree assault and many more. Steve has beaten 2 of the office assistant women that he hired based on their looks only. Steve has slapped a customers child and tripped the customers other child. Steve has stolen from multiple of his technicians. Steve has made questionable comments about going to Epstein island so that he can “do” underage children legally. Steve will fire the entire shop the second he is not in control of something. Please keep these things in mind before supporting a small business.
