Am I Reaching?
I might need to readjust my tinfoil hat, but I've always thought that Zero (Khelo Thomas) resembled Nervous Subject. (No shade towards Khelo lol but you can't deny he'd make a perfect live action match, even now.)
Anyways, I rewatched Holes recently and I couldn't help but notice many similarities between the two, and now I can't unsee it.
Both were separated from their mothers at a young age and left to desperately fend for themselves.
Both are trapped in the custody of horrible people who view them as disposable. >!All three guards plotted to leave Zero to die in the desert and delete his record so there'd be "no trace" of him, and we all know what the Beakers did to Nervous in the PSP game.!<
Both Nervous Subject and Zero are names given to them out of mockery. "Nervous Subject" is pretty self-explanatory; >!"Do you want to know why they call him Zero? Because there's nothing going on in his stupid little head." - The Counselor!<
Lastly, both... >!(potentially) get to inherit wealth and reunite with their mothers at the end of their suffering.!< For Nervous, it's up to the player, but the devs heavily hint towards that outcome.
The timelines also add up given the release dates. We know the devs pulled inspiration from various sources. So, do you guys think Zero influenced Nervous' character design and story? Maybe that's why they changed his OG face?
Or am I reaching?
Also, are there any actors that remind you of other characters?
