Hello. I have gotten myself into a situation where I was pressured into re-signing a 12 month lease, and now want to move out due to the living conditions.

We rent with the landlord’s daughter and share the kitchen/bathroom, so we are considered boarders/ roommates, not tenants under the RTA.

We signed a standard RTA lease and it had no clauses or conditions regarding breaking the lease.

So my question is, are we able to break this contract prematurely? Is it as simple as giving 30 days notice? What happens if after the 30 days no one has rented the unit, are we on the hook?
