Dead fret on one string only

Hoping some of your pros here can help me.

I have a Floyd equipped guitar that has a dead fret - the fret buzz so bad that it’s pretty much unplayable. It’s only on the D string and only one fret.

Had my guitar tech do a full setup and look at it and initially thought could be due to a high 17th fret causing the 16th fret to buzz but before doing anything to the frets, we decided to try raising the bridge first to see if that would solve the problem.

However, after raising the bridge the dead fret has now moved up one fret to the 17th fret on the D string. Every fret below and above it is perfectly fine, and the 17th fret on the other strings are fine too.

Would anyone have any ideas what could be the cause of this and how I can fix it?

Thank you

In Saphire blue, although looks greenish in certain light. Neck is an Ultra neck, which I believe is pretty rare, thicker than the usual wizards but plays very comfortably. I actually really like the mini pickup toggle as opposed to the usual blade switches!

NGD: 80s Kramer LK-1BF?

Just acquired this beauty. Believe it’s an 80s MIJ LK-1BF, made by ESP?

Not sure if pickups are original - in the catalogs I found the neck pickup should be a blade style pickup. Also looks like trem has been replaced by a Schaller.

Any more info appreciated!
