Skipping NEET after 2 attempts… is Bioinformatics worth it in India?

Hey everyone,

my_qualifications: Asking on behalf of my sister (PCB student, completed 12th, 2 NEET attempts)

I’m looking for some honest advice from people who’ve been in a similar situation or have experience in this field.

My sister has been preparing for NEET for the past 2 years. She gave it her all, but she doesn’t feel confident about clearing it this time either. She’s 19 now and completed her 12th last year. After a lot of thinking, she’s starting to accept that NEET might not work out for her, and we’re exploring other career options.

One option she’s considering is Bioinformatics, but we don’t have much clarity on it.

I wanted to ask:

  • Is bioinformatics a good career option in India right now?
  • What kind of colleges should we aim for?
  • How are the job opportunities, salary growth, and future scope?
  • Is it more research-oriented or does it have industry roles as well?
  • Any alternative courses you’d recommend for someone with a biology background?

Would really appreciate insights from anyone who has studied bioinformatics or is currently working in this field. Even general guidance would help a lot—we’re just trying to make a practical, informed decision at this point.

Thanks in advance 🙏

I bought Lattafa Angham from Perfume Palace about 3–4 months ago, and I’ve barely used it, you can see the juice level is still quite high. But now the outer frame is starting to come off like this. The same thing happened with my Lattafa Asad Bourbon as well. What’s going on with Lattafa lately

What to do if you have chronic acid reflux?

I didn’t even realize I had chronic acid reflux at first. I thought it was just “normal” — like yeah, spicy food = little burn, late-night eating = discomfort… happens to everyone, right?

But then it slowly got worse.

It started with that annoying burning in my chest after meals. Then came the random sour taste in my mouth, especially when I’d lie down. I remember one night waking up feeling like something was stuck in my throat, almost like I couldn’t breathe properly. That was the moment I knew something wasn’t right.

Still ignored it.

Big mistake.

Over time, it became part of my daily life:

Coffee in the morning → instant discomfort

Eating anything fried → regret within 30 minutes

Late dinners → guaranteed sleepless night

I was basically planning my day around avoiding that burning feeling.

Finally went to a doctor and got told it’s GERD. That hit me harder than expected because it’s not something you just “fix” overnight — it’s lifestyle.

So I started experimenting.

Cut down spicy food (painful, I’m Indian 🥲), reduced coffee, stopped eating late at night, and tried to actually listen to my body for once. Also raised my pillow while sleeping — sounds small, but it helped.

The weirdest part? Stress made it worse. On days I was anxious or overthinking, symptoms would flare up even if I ate clean.

Now it’s more under control, but not gone. It’s like this constant reminder that your body keeps score of everything you do.

If anyone else is dealing with this:

Don’t ignore it like I did. It doesn’t magically disappear — it slowly becomes your routine.

Would love to hear what worked for others, especially with triggers. Still figuring it out.
