anyone else regret not activating windows on their main gaming pc?
the big difference is that microsoft focuses on blocking cosmetic features rather than core performance or security updates. i noticed that while my frame rates were identical, not being able to change my accent colors or lock screen became a huge headache after just a week. so use the unactivated version for a temporary test bench, but get a real key for a build you plan to keep for a few years.
anyone else tried the unactivated route and ended up cave-ing and buying a key later? curious to hear real experiences on how long you lasted before the customization limits got annoying.
(found a decent writeup on this earlier if anyone wants the deeper breakdown: https://logkeys.com/guides/windows-without-activation)
Just one more turn/match...
We’ve all told ourselves that lie at 11:00 PM, only to see the sun coming up while we’re still playing. What is that one game that completely destroys your sleep schedule?
Hey guys, I need some quick advice. I’m wrapping up my build and need to activate Windows 11 Pro.
I know the main difference is that a Retail key is tied to my Microsoft account (so I can move it to a new PC later), while an OEM key is permanently locked to this specific motherboard. The catch is, OEM keys are like $20 on reseller sites, while Retail is crazy expensive.
Honestly, by the time I upgrade my motherboard again, it'll probably be 4 or 5 years from now.
For those who went with the cheap OEM route:
- Do you regret it when it comes time to upgrade?
- Where is the safest place to buy an OEM key without getting a duplicate/used one?
- Are there any other hidden downsides to OEM that I'm not thinking about?
Just looking for safe, legal options (no scripts please!). Let me know what you guys usually do.
How many games do you currently have in your library with zero hours played while you're sitting here replaying the same comfort game for the 10th time?
What’s the "one that got away" in your backlog that you promise you’re going to start this weekend (but probably won't)?
Literally the worst possible spawn point in history. Press F to pay respects to our fallen soldier. 😂
Why do you still play games?
Escape, fun, competition… or something deeper?
A timeline of events:
2009 Dad confiscated my PS2 during exam season. Said gaming is a complete waste of time.
2012 Caught me at a cyber cafe. Grounded for 2 weeks.
2015 Sold my gaming PC when I left for university, 'so I could focus on my studies'.
2018 I bought my own rig with my first salary. He didn't speak to me for a week.
2023 He got a smartphone. Downloaded Mobile Legends 'because his office friends play it'.
2024 He reached Warrior rank and was genuinely proud of himself.
Last week He sat down next to me and said, 'Teach me how to play a strong hero.'
I taught him Layla. He lost 7 games in a row. He called it 'unfair'. Then immediately played again.
Welcome to the culture, Dad. I forgive you for 2009.
Serious question — why does the Malaysian gaming community still have people saying 'mobile isn't real gaming'?
Bro, there are Malaysian players earning money from MLBB tournaments. There are players hitting Mythical Glory every season. There are local full-time content creators living off Mobile Legends.
Meanwhile you play a PC game for 2 hours a day after work and call yourself a 'real gamer'?
The gatekeeping is embarrassing. Gaming is gaming.
