How much is too much for driving lessons?

I just booked on with an instructor at the rate of £40 per hour... Me and my parents both agree that it is a hella expensive price (excuse the life is strange). However, when you compare it with companies like Bill Plant, they are kind of the same.

She also asks for payment in cash.

I'm now second-guessing myself if I was right to accept that. For context, this instructor is self employed and contacted through the DVLA find an instructor website. What's kind of a red flag for me is the fact that she has no online presence at all. She relies on people going on the government website and calling her number.

My first lesson with her is next Wednesday, lets see how this goes... I'll check if she does actually have an ADI badge first.

First time I've seen an Alice Glass Instagram story which isn't about Ethan. Even if this is still Jupiter, I completely agree with what is being said.

This is by far my all time favourite Dankpods video

I've watched it so many times now mate, it's the video that got me into being a big fan of his content.

The adverts

So, the BTCC is back. Which also means the return of the targeted adverts on ITV4. What annoying ones have we got this year? I'll start:

That dormeo mattress thing promotion that went on for about a year. The definition of 'We have JML at home'.

Hey at least ITV got some new sponsor stings for the first time since about 2022.

Air War (Reading 2011, BBC Radio 1 Stage)

If you're looking for the best lightshow at a CC show, then this is it. Reading 2011 has some of the best production I've seen on any Crystal Castles live video.

How to find a reliable instructor?

I've been looking for ages now - everyone in my area seems to have a massive waitlist.

I've contacted multiple schools and self-employed instructors, by phone, text, email and online form and they either send me some unhelpful auto-generated response, or just not even bother to get back in touch with me availability or not.

It's seeming a lot like the job market right now, either their full or just don't want anything to do with you and so feel like they don't have to contact you.

I probably should've started looking much earlier (like a year in advance). We also have no family/family friends in my area who are instructors, and we have no family who are instructors full stop. I also don't have any older siblings who are full license holders, so we've never used an instructor in my area (York - my dad learned in Coventry and my mum learned in Scotland)

How long did it take everyone else before they started professional lessons? I have started driving with my family, but haven't done road yet.

Thoughts on Pap Smear?

One of their best in my opinion. Every time I listen to it I find myself turning it up to full volume and singing along and dancing, it's so good. I never really see anyone talking about it, it deserves some appreciation.

so many shades of white, so many shades of pale...

Yes I am aware that I have mis-matching resolutions. My second monitor is a 19'' TV that used to be in my Grandad's kitchen 🥲

My favourite track is probably The Right Way Around, I love the guitar in it and the way it builds up. I need to checkout more music by Daughter!
