Laser cut MDF scraps with sand for texture filler. Sealed with watered down glue.
WIP for stage 1, laying out laser cut MDF scraps and misprints. Then filling the gaps with a sand mix for texture. Then seal it all with a coat of watered down glue.
Another one of my In-Box builds for travel, this one is a briefcase. Maybe 40lbs total. I tried to balance the 3d aspect of terrain while still being able to transport them all in a closed case.

Just wack some cars with a hammer, a coat of paint and rust. Little paper towel for tarps and poof! Terrain!
