How do you keep your plants happy in tiny pots?

I’ve been watering my neighbors plants and she keeps everything in the tiniest pots, I’ve noticed it all over Japan and I don’t understand how you keep everything so happy without room for roots to expand?

I genuinely would like to know.

Do you take them out and trim the roots? Do you fertilize like crazy?

What’s the secret behind these amazing bonsai looking plants that are flourishing?

How to use this bow for Yukata?

I found this at the thrift store and I want it to use it for the Yukata under the one shown for festival season.

It has two strings on the part that goes on the waist and a really long string on the bow that wound on a handle looking thing?

How to tie this bow on Yukata?

I got this bow for a Yukata for summer festivals and I’m unsure how to tie it.

Did I buy a kids size by mistake?

It has two long white strings on either side and the bow has a long white string as well?

I tried to look it up on the internet but they were all for tying your own bow.

It seems I can’t add pictures.

Wisteria near a retaining wall bad idea?

I got this wisteria for my dad, he wanted it planted on the street below the retaining wall.

I planted it for him, but I’m pretty worried about the roots destroying the structural integrity of the wall and the concrete of the street and the drive way below.

I didn’t take a picture of it yet, but how worried should I be?

Was this a bad idea?

I was in the pharmacy today and these guys from Ghana were behind me in line. They started talking to me in English, so I replied in English. They were surprised I could speak English and asked me where I’m from to which I replied “Canada.”

I got to the register and said “konichiwa” the cashier ignored me. Rang up my stuff.

The two men asked me why I was here and I said, I’m Japanese, I was raised in Canada.

The cashier suddenly started speaking to me very kindly and shifted her attitude right away.

I left and walked home.

I’ve been wondering what’s up with the hostility in Japan recently?

People used to be at least nice to me and ask me questions out of curiosity if I said I was from Canada.

I hadn’t been back in 10 years before 2 years ago, moved back last year.

When I came back 2 years ago for my grandma’s funeral.
I had entire restaurant staff be rude to me and laugh at me for ordering something even if I said I was from Canada and couldn’t read Japanese in Tokyo.

A flower shop owner was rude to me while I was buying flowers for my dead Grandmother until they saw the Canada flag on my jacket and then asked me where I was from and if I was Chinese.

My other grandma died last year, I came for the funeral and then my dad got sick. So I stayed to take care of him and his affairs.

Since coming back last year, I’ve had people completely cold shoulder me and ignore me, outwardly extremely rude to me, or say terrible things about me as I’m walking by.

I’d spent a lot of time in Japan before turning 18 and wasn’t treated as bad or looked at like complete scum.

I’m curious, what’s with the hostility?
It’s hard to be Japanese and treated poorly by your own people. It’s not the Japan remember growing up.

Genuinely curious, what’s happening?

Been seeing a lot of negative news lately and saw this on another sub. Thought it was a great idea to lighten the mood.

I’ll start! I look forward to seeing my flowers outside my window when I wake up in the morning.

Looking for plant based protein powder in Japan or if anyone can recommend a good store in Tokyo with lots of options to choose from.
Looking for a big tub ideally, not a small bag.
