Car dealership did not do retest - now there's a hearing with the state

I'm in NH

I had to buy a vehicle, the get device installed, get the vehicle inspected, take a written and road test. This was done in January, right around the time we had that big national storm.

The dealership I went to couldn't do the inspection so they offered to bring it to another location. I explained to them in depth (as I obviously didn't have my license back yet.

He blew, but for some reason refused to do the retest.

there was no lock out, but I just got a summons to go to a hearing of "failure to retest".

This summons, also had his picture, clearly not me, and there was about a week of a window in between this and actually getting my license back.

Am I screwed ? I plan on going to the dealership to get a letter in their letterhead saying it was them and not me.

Anyone get this yet ? . Granted..price change isn't huge....BUT....

Background : somewhere around the 20-teens, I had to do this, for 12 months. Unfortunately for me in 2021 I decided to NOT learn my lesson.

Knowing the pain ahead of me, I dragged my feet, was able to start the process and get my shiz back in 2024, but really didn't want to go through this process again.

I decided to bite the bullet late jan 2026, go through the install process, had to buy a car (i bought a truck) to get it installed, and because it was three years, had to do written/road test and all of that....this is the time where we had a MASSIVE national storm, late jan/early Feb...lucky me.

everyone on this forum has traded stopries about dead batteries in the dead of winter, had to get a new battery, yeah I went though all of that, in the middle of getting my license back.

...than cyber attack......shitshowe for the next 6 weeks, yada yada yada...

I just, on a random sleeplessnight checked my email to find this and was wondering if anyone else receive this. It's not a huge amount, buti don't see how the straight of Hormuz can even justify this one.

this time I have to do it for two years......4 months in, 20 to go..... For you first timers.....I would advice you to take it seriously. My first time they didn't even have GPS or pic taken of you.

anyone else seen this ?

5.3L, 6 speed tranny, 50K miles

Bought the truck in early Feb. About caught up on a fluid, just need the two differentials and transfer case at this point. Did a tranny job (not just fluid change, dropped the pan, new filter, new gasket, new fluid - Valvoline synthetic).

Throughout my own research, I keep hearing -

Get a 6L90 Torque converter - I have no idea what this is as I'm not a mechanic. Is this really necessary, and if so....will it help prolong the life of the truck ?

Oil catch can - Same questions, see above

Thermal bypass for tranny - same questions, see above.

I am a 100% disabled vet, love the truck, but REALLY Need it to last as long as possible. I know there are a lot of horror stories about the tranny (my biggest concern, which is why I got the job done first), but I know if religiously taken care of (after digging deeper, many say that these are horror stories and it's not as bad as it sounds....as long as you do the 3k/3month oil changes and stay on top of the tranny).

I also got the Range AFM disabler and have been using it since (my) day one (can't vouch for previous owner).

last question - Not many, but some have said to NOT keep it in Auto (as far as 4 wheel dr), as it wears the hell out of your drive train....this one is a little new to me. I kept it in auto for the remainder of the winder (New England), and the plan was to keep it in 2 hi for the summer, switching back to auto during the winter. I'm hearing that it's best to keep it in 2hi forever, unless weather (or fun) conditions require the adjustment and just throw it into 4hi. Does anyone have thoughts on this one ?

Sorry for the long winded post.

44/m, single

About 10 years ago I was with a pretty nice girl but we were just straight up incompatible (early 80's millenials - we both knew it and moved on)

Throughout this relationship, she turned me onto Himalayan salt lamps. I never believed her claims but bought a couple anyway....benefits being keeping dust down, ionizing the air or whatever...... but I got into them.

I'm in old, old New England, the bldg I live in was erected waaay before George washing was president, in NH...and I live on a dirt road.

I actually beleive that these things help as far as dust, air quality, and even just overall moral really.

I really only have two questions that I'm looking for some help w/

  1. I always got from amazon, but by staying on the same price point avg per lamp (25-40 USD/ea) I get varying levels of quality on t6he lamps ( strickly that salt part. Can anyone reccomend a better way to shop ? keywords or something ?

  2. my lamp fixtures keep going out (NOT bulbs/lamps) but the actual fixture that you squeeze in there to ensure the bulb illuminates the lamp (no pun, I promise). Is there a more stable fixture ? I feel like I have to buy 2-3 fixtures just to keep these thing illuminated/ yr.

Thanks

- Single guy, vet, two adult kids (one female - whoa)

10 years ago I bought true 550 milspec......just about totally out.

About 5 years ago I bought more paracord (I believe it was paracord world, but don't quote me). Once I open the package, it screamed, " not milspec". 😞

I'm looking for the most reliable OG 550lb rated milspec paracord, I believe it's exclusively nylon. Yes I have searched this community but half of the recommended site sold me crap.

I want to attempt to make a cargo net for my truck
