After leaving the Marines, he studied acting in New York and went on to work with directors including Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Quentin Tarantino and Jane Campion.

From Mean Streets and Taxi Driver to Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and The Piano, he built a career on danger, stillness and characters who always looked like they knew more than they were saying.

Some of the officers that outranked Captain Kirk in ST TOS

I that when another captain is visiting the vessel, he or she is usually given a honorary bump in rank to commodore.

This is on the premise that a ship has only one captain so visitors are advanced one rank.

The point being that some of these commodores are of the same rank as Kirk.

Give me any example of any TV show or movie character that has become so intertwined with a certain actor or actress playing them all the time that you simply just cannot imagine anybody else taking up the role.

Erica Durance

Okay, I know on Smallville, when Erica Durance was first cast as Lois Lane, she was given credit as a special guest star, despite the fact that she was not a very well-known actress at the time. So my question is, do you think that she was given credit as a special guest star solely based on the fact that she was playing a character that was well-known in the DC comic book universe?

Coworker said I hit on her

Okay, I work in customer service. One day, a coworker of mine asked me for a ride home, so I gave it to her despite the fact that that means that I would have to be going in the opposite direction of where I normally go. And when she got in the car, everything was fine. Next day, I get called into the boss's office because the coworker lied and said that I had hit on her when that is not true. But what the coworker does not know is that I actually have a camera in my car for my own personal safety reasons, and I pulled up the video from that night, which clearly shows me not hitting on the coworker. And the boss thanked me and dismissed it. Next thing I know, the coworker was fired because of the fact that she made up this lie about me, at least that is what was told to me by my boss.

WHO IS THIS SHARP-TONGUED COMEDY LEGEND?

Born on this day in 1937, who is the comedian pictured here in 1975, right in the middle of his move from clean-cut TV comic to one of America’s most fearless stand-ups?

With his wordplay, social bite and famous battles over language on air, he helped change what comedy could say — and what audiences were willing to hear.

We sadly lost him in June 2008. Can you name him?

Celebrating her 56th birthday today, who is this actress many will remember from Pump Up the Volume, The Thing Called Love, Little Women, The American President and Jack and Sarah?

Through the 90s, she became one of those familiar screen faces who seemed to turn up in everything from romantic dramas to coming-of-age films, often bringing a thoughtful, slightly offbeat warmth to the role.

She also appeared in Broken Arrow and later American Psycho, giving her a filmography that runs from sweet and reflective to much darker territory.

Give me some movie villains that would have actually left their victims alone if the victims had not started with them first

Give me some movie villains that would have actually left their victims alone if the victims had not started with them first. For example Candyman in the lore of the film, Candyman only appears when someone says his name five times into a mirror. If people leave the legend alone, he generally leaves them alone.

Okay, we all know that Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor are best known for playing Xena and Gabrielle. So my question is, what if the original casting choices, Vanessa Angel and Sunny Day, had went on to play those parts? Would you have still watched the show?

Mattie Moss Clark and Joe Jackson

People treat Joe Jackson like a monster, but excuse Mattie Moss Clark for similar behavior. Folks still tell stories about Mattie throwing shoes at kids in church and being extremely strict with her family. Twinkie Clark left Howard, and Denise Clark stayed distant from the family for years.

Still, both parents helped create legendary music families. There’s no The Jackson 5 without Joe, and no The Clark Sisters without Mattie.

Same type of parent. Different setting. People just choose who to criticize.
