How do you actually choose the right apprenticeship if you’re unsure about careers?
I’m wondering how people narrowed it down when they didn’t have a clear idea of what industry they wanted to go into yet.
Which radio presenter has the most instantly recognisable voice?
reddit.comFinally found a solution to the setting powder mistake which was making my makeup look heavy all day!
I used to powder my whole face because I was terrified of looking oily, but every photo made my skin look flat and cakey after a few hours. I started by powdering only the centre of my face and leaving my cheeks alone unless absolutely necessary. My makeup suddenly looks way more skin like and fresh throughout the day. I think I spent years accidentally mattifying the life out of my own face.
The weirdest part of London is how anonymous yet social it can feel at the same time
You can spend all day surrounded by people without speaking to anyone, then randomly end up having brilliant conversations with strangers in the most unexpected places. This is London for me.
Labour’s promise to ban ticket touts is officially on the waitlist.
I noticed today that the legislation to cap resale prices for theater tickets might be delayed until after the summer. I also realised that with the Oasis level demand for Sam Ryder in Jesus Christ Superstar, we’re probably going to see dynamic pricing reach its final, terrifying form this June. Not sure if the FanFair Alliance can actually stop the bots without government backing. Is anyone actually boycotting the resale sites, or are we just accepting that a stall's seat at the Palladium is going to cost more than a weekend in Madrid?
Did anyone actually manage to snag a ticket for Gary Oldman’s return to the stage? I’m not sure if I should keep refreshing the "Godot’s To-Do List" curtain-raiser page or just accept that I’ll be paying £400 on a resale site to see a man talk to a tape recorder for 50 minutes. I noticed a few people on the sub mentioned a day-seat policy for the Royal Court run. Does anyone have the inside track on how early we need to be standing in Sloane Square to stand a chance?
I spent my morning explaining to my retired dad why he suddenly owes HMRC money despite his pay rise last month. With the State Pension hitting £230+ a week and the Personal Allowance still stuck at £12,570, he’s officially been dragged into the tax net by a measly few hundred quid. I noticed that the 4.8% increase basically goes straight back to the Treasury for anyone with even a tiny bit of savings interest. It’s the ultimate stealth tax, HMRC doesn't have to raise rates if they just wait for inflation to do the work for them. I’m not sure how many pensioners are actually aware they’re now taxpayers until that P60 arrives.
I’ve been putting it off because it’s out in Wembley, but since it closes on Sunday (May 3rd), I’m panic buying a ticket. For the people who have seen this 40th anniversary production, is the futuristic twist actually good, or should I have just stayed in the West End for The Devil Wears Prada? I’m worried that as a first-timer, a musical about trains on roller skates is going to be a bit much. Am I going to regret the 40 minute Jubilee line trip?
The lineup just dropped with Brockie, Peter Cannon, and the Freestylers. It’s rare to see Fabric go this old school on a Saturday night in Room 1, but the nostalgia for the 2026 scene is hitting hard. Is this going to be a grown-up rave with people who actually know how to 2-step, or is it going to be full of kids who think Jungle is just something they heard on a TikTok remix? Either way, I’ll be the one in the corner with the glowsticks.
