What makes music "good" to you?

What makes music "good" to you?

Image is unrelated lol

For me, it's a number of things. I like vulnerability and expressiveness most of all. Also I seek out unique sounds and things I've never heard. I value narrative, originality, and also this is a little weird but I like scrappy independent music, buzzy strings, lofi sound, etc. Think early car seat headrest or Alex g. It feels really personal to me.

What makes music good to you? I know it's all subjective and in the end, if you like it you like it. That's the cool part, I'm just wondering what you look for in an album/song/artist

Mugwort or ragweed?

I know you guys get this question all the time but I'm a beginner and I don't want to misidentify anything. It's a pretty young plant, and I crushed it between my fingers and it smelled sagey and spicy.

albums i think you guys would like!!

from top right, moving through each row they are:

Le Vie Est Belle - Petite Noir

Lullabies In A Glass Wilderness - Katie Jane Garside (genuinely such a beautiful album guys)

Falling Through A Field - Black Moth Super Rainbow

Say So - Bent Knee

Care - TEMPOREX

You Will Never Know Why - Sweet Trip

Visiter - The Dodos

Smiley Smile - The Beach Boys

June Bugs - Catdash

Satanic Panic In The Attic - of Montreal

Logos - Atlas Sound

Attention Earth! - HENGE

Zzoorrcchh - Zorch

Viator - Jack Stauber

The Much Much How How And I - Cosmo Sheldrake

Hymn - Tonstartssbandht

some of these are more folk-ish and others are electronic/indie pop, but i think you guys would like these. i know a lot of you like Logos and Smiley Smile already, and i've run into a couple Tonstarssbandht fans on this sub. i had a lot of fun making this collage, featuring some of my favorite albums ever like La Vie Est Belle, The Much Much How How And I, and Attention Earth. do you guys like any of these? also i'd appreciate some recs, im always looking for new music :]

I think you guys would reaaaaally like this. it's a very brown rap album, kinda getting pod vibes from it. Check it out if you can!! Green Fleece and Still Life are the weeniest on here, but the whole album is quite good. 😁

I was thinking about centipede Hz the other day, and how it was initially received. 14 years later I feel like a lot of people who didn't like it at first have come around, and as a very young fan it didn't seem out of place in their discography at all- it was one of the first I listened to and thought it was perfect. But I think the reason it's so widely disliked is because it came immediately after merriweather, after they had made their big pop breakout. Chz must have given people whiplash. Whether it was new fans or critics.

Same goes for danse manatee. Everyone knows danse is a good album, but Danse immediately following spirit seems a little off kilter. I don't necessarily know what my point is here, I'm kinda just spitballing. One of my favorite things about AC is how often they switch up their sound while maintaining the same character, but I totally understand that they sometimes switch vibes so so fast. Does this make any sense? I feel like I'm rambling

Mine is from mononucleosis, for some reason the lyric "tell me that you wish you was dead. Man, I really don't wish you were dead" really sticks out to me, it's so simple but says everything that needs to be said. Basically the kinds of conversations I had with my friends when I was really deep in it

I've tripped (macrodosed) on morning glory 5 times so far, but only using sprouts. I've had really enjoyable effects and benefits from doing so, but eating the sprouts is really hard for me texture-wise. I was wondering if it'd be less psychedelic if I just crushed and ate thr raw, unsprouted seeds?

Ive done microdoses with raw tricolor seeds and didn't find the taste to be too bad. Is nausea something to be worried about?

My biggest question is how is the psychedelia affected. Would I get visuals that way?
