2008 Lexus RX350

Hi Folks,
I am thinking to buy 2008 Lexus RX350, current mileage is around 192K miles. Seller is asking for $5800, as per seller the car has been rust proofed. What do you guys think should I consider high mileage SUV.
I am looking to survive with at least 4 years with any SUVs. I will be checking the car tomorrow, what things should I consider?

Thanks

Hi Folks,
Looking for opinions on a 2015 Honda Pilot with around 124K miles. Seller has been very transparent and provided detailed maintenance history of past 16 years. Vehicle overall seems well maintained, but timing belt/water pump service is either upcoming or needs confirmation.

For those who own or owned a 2015 Pilot:
- How critical is the timing belt/water pump service at this mileage?
- Any other major repairs I should realistically expect after 124K miles.
- Would you still consider buying one around this mileage if maintenance history is solid?

However, the car drives like bullet and smooth.

Trying to balance reliability, family practicality, and long-term ownership costs before making a decision.

Looking for opinions on a 2011 Honda CR-V EX AWD I’m considering buying in Alberta, Canada.

Details:
- 2011 Honda CR-V EX AWD
- ~62K MILES
- Asking price: $11K
- Clean CARFAX
- No accidents reported
- No liens
- Following routine maintenance was done 2 days ago
Vehicle serviced
Maintenance inspection completed
Brakes checked
Brake pads replaced
Brake rotor(s) replaced
Front brake pads replaced
Front brake rotor(s) replaced
Oil and filter changed
Rear brake pads replaced
Rear wiper blade replaced
Safety inspection performed
Wiper(s) replaced

- Front/rear brakes and rotors recently replaced
- Michelin CrossClimate tires with only ~5,000 km on them
- Seller says underbody looks clean with no major rust visible
- No known rust proofing history
- Timing chain engine (not timing belt)
- Seller mentioned original owner was an older person and vehicle was lightly driven

A few things I’m unsure about:
- CARFAX only shows 5 service records
- Vehicle is still 15 years old despite low mileage
- Price feels high compared to average CR-Vs, but mileage and condition seem above average

I have a family with 2 young kids and I’m mainly looking for something reliable long-term with lower ownership costs. I was originally considering a 2015 Honda Pilot around the same budget range, but the timing belt/water pump maintenance and higher mileage pushed me away.

Would you consider this CR-V worth pursuing at this price range, or is it overpriced for the age?
