Does the “1.25 lakh per syllable” rule apply to beej mantras too?

I’ve often heard that for mantra siddhi or getting actual spiritual benefits from a mantra, one should chant 1.25 lakh (125,000) times per syllable/akshara of the mantra.

For example, with a Panchakshari mantra, some people calculate the total japa count based on the number of syllables in the mantra.

My question is about beej mantras in general. For example, take the beej mantra “Kleem” (क्लीं). Since it is considered a single beej syllable, would the required count just be 1.25 lakh total? Or do beej mantras follow different rules/traditions for japa counts and siddhi?

Also, when practicing a beej mantra, is it acceptable to chant only the beej itself (“क्लीं”), or is it generally recommended to chant a fuller mantra such as “ॐ क्लीं कृष्णाय नमः” instead?

I’m asking from a traditional mantra shastra perspective and would appreciate answers from people who have actually practiced or seriously studied this subject.

Anyone here tried biotin + folic acid tablets for hair fall? Did they actually help?

Hey everyone,

Recently I’ve been experiencing noticeable hair fall, and I’ll be honest — my diet hasn’t been the best lately. I’ve been eating a lot of sweets/sugar, which I suspect might be contributing to it.

I recently started taking generic biotin + folic acid tablets to see if they help with hair growth and reduce hair fall.

My question is: has anyone here tried biotin with folic acid supplements for hair fall? Did it actually work for you, and how long did it take before you noticed any results?

I’d also love to hear what has actually worked for you when it comes to reducing hair fall or improving hair growth.

Would appreciate hearing about any side effects, lifestyle changes, diet improvements, or other things that helped alongside supplements.

Thanks!

What’s the actual difference between normal mantra jaap and mantra jaap done with a sankalp? Does sankalp make the mantra more “energized”?

I’ve been trying to understand the role of sankalp in mantra sadhana and wanted to hear perspectives from people who have experience with regular jaap, anushthan, tantra, bhakti, etc.

For example, imagine these 2 scenarios:

Scenario 1:

A person does 11 mala jaap daily for 31 days sincerely, with devotion and discipline, but without formally taking any sankalp before starting.

Scenario 2:

The same person again does 11 mala jaap daily for 31 days, same mantra, same count, same devotion — but this time before beginning, they take a proper sankalp with a clear intention and commitment.

So my question is:

Is there an actual spiritual/energetic difference between these two?

Does taking a sankalp make the mantra more powerful or “charged”?

Or is sankalp mainly about mental focus and discipline?

In traditional sadhana, how important is sankalp compared to bhav (devotion), consistency, and pronunciation?

Have any of you personally noticed a difference in results when doing jaap with vs without sankalp?

Would love to hear both scriptural and personal-experience perspectives.

I’m dealing with intense lust and it’s getting hard to control my thoughts and urges. It’s affecting my focus, discipline, and overall peace of mind.

I’m specifically looking for something effective — any Vedic mantra, Shabar mantra, mudra, or spiritual practice that can help bring these urges under control quickly.

If anyone has real experience with something that genuinely helps (not just theory), please share. I’m looking for something practical that I can start using right away.

I’m a GATE ECE aspirant and want to study more effectively. Which subjects have more direct formula-based questions, and which ones are more theoretical or less direct (not purely formula-driven)?
