Just watched I See Turtles

Just finished it and, wow. I was looking at an older thread from 11 years ago on the episode, and no one was mentioning the reason I ran to this sub reddit in the first place.

Everyone was praising the episode for the character development, but am I the only one that was absolutely blown away by the social commentary they were making?

To be clear, I never watched the show when it first aired, but I started watching it a while back after a friend recommended it to my. So I can imagine it going WAY over the heads of children, but from the perspective of an 18 year old, I got MASSIVE Eyes Wide Shut and Epstein vibes. A secret society where everyone abused turtles in order to feel young again was crazy enough, but when Mordecai and CJ threatened to call the cops and the Youth Topia people said, "Go ahead, they're members too." I honestly gasped.

I think it's crazy how an episode for a show like this was able to attack elites in such a clever way. It's honestly crazy for me to think that someone might watch a cartoon as a kid and rewatch it to find CRAZY political commentary that may have even gone so far as to cover themes of pedophilia.

Anyone have any thoughts? Also, please refrain from spoiling anything beyond this point in the show as I'm still making my way through it. I just had to talk about this episode because it blew my minds.

I want to watch a movie where a bunch of evil people are killed.

I just watched Life Is Beautiful, and it's one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen. I really wanna watch something now that's got high quality storytelling and directing, but features an absurd amount of evil people being brutally killed. Something like Django Unchained or Inglorious Basterds where everyone that gets killed is either avenged later on, or an evil/racist piece of garbage. Anyone recommendations?

Jesus is in the middle of being crucified on the cross.

Peter is watching the whole ordeal in sadness when he hears Jesus say something to him.

"Peter...Peter come here! I have something to tell you!" Jesus says.

Peter, being the loyal disciple he is, walks up to the cross and begins to climb it.

A Roman guard sees this, and in a confused and angry tone says, "Hey! Get down! You can't be up there!"

After saying this, the Roman guard takes his sword, and chops off Peter's left leg.

Peter falls to the ground and hops away before again hearing Jesus say, "Peter...Peter come here! I have something to tell you!"

Again, being the loyal disciple he is, Peter begins to climb up the cross even while missing one leg.

The Roman guard sees this and says, "Hey! Get back down! I already told you ya' can't be up there." The guard then takes his sword and chops off Peter's right arm.

Peter falls down, and begins hopping off again before hearing Jesus once again say, "Peter...Peter come here! I have something to tell you!"

Peter sheds a tear, but being the loyal disciple he is, he walks up to the cross, and by wrapping his right leg and left arm around it, able to shimmy himself up the cross.

The Roman guard sees this and says, "Maybe this will teach you a lesson!" and he chops off Peter's remaining arm and leg, leaving him limbless.

Peter falls off the cross and rolls away before hearing Jesus once again say, "Peter...Peter come here! I have something to tell you!"

With a look of sheer determination in his eye, Peter manages to get himself over to the cross and by wrapping his entire body around the post, he is able to move himself up the cross like a worm.

The Roman guard sees this, but at this point has determined that if he can get up to the top, he's earned it.

In a beautiful act of faith and loyalty, the crowd watches as Peter makes his way up to the top of the cross.

He finally gets to the top and says, "I'm here Jesus! What is it that you wanted to tell me?"

Jesus smiles now that his friend is there and he nods forward and says, "Look Peter! I can see your house from here!"
