Those scalpers don't realize they're starving Shingyaru Mintmobile, his 100 girlfriends, and Squeaky

Squeaky needs his daily dose of PokéCracks or else he can't stop crying!! Shingyaru Mintmobile needs the food for his 100 girlfriends as well as Squeaky! The scalpers keep selling to others for a higher price to rob our indie devs, thus starving Shingyaru Mintmobile, his 100 girlfriends, and his Pikachu named Squeaky!

The lore is that after she graduated, she became incredibly skilled at worldbuilding and decided to write and draw a manga one-shot. Her work eventually got published on Dengeki Daioh.

Who the actual HECK are these people and which parts do they contribute to the lore of Princess Serenity?

I have been rewatching Ikuko Itoh cook a good food early on in her career with Sera Myu but then I encountered so many strange faces who I don't remember seeing the last time I viewed this episode. Does anyone know the lore behind these ones?

So what was a trip to Delaware's only fully-developed theme park like? A [Nintendo's Loopy Landscapes] trip report from the last day the park was open

Delaware is infamously known as a state devoid of credits. This statement isn't any more true, for it has no operating coasters left. But for a time between July 1971 and October 2023, there was one small park in Delaware. This was Nintendo's Loopy Landscapes, a park in Port Penn, Delaware.

The park had started off as a property owned by famed early theme park tycoon Christopher Sawyer in 1962, who had originally intended it to be a private picnic ground. But once he had gotten into the theme park industry by the early 1970s, he decided to use some of his acquired experience to turn the picnic ground into another one of his parks. By 1969 he purchased some rides from different manufacturers and the park opened to the public in late July 1971.

He had kept a watchful eye over the park's growth until his passing after the 1991 season. This added a serious problem for his theme park company Coaster Parks Inc., seeing as it was already in financial troubles. So the company decided to sell the park to the then-developing North Star Entertainment in early 1992, which already had experience with owning and operating a few of the Nintendo-built PokéParks.

As a result of this purchase, North Star Entertainment decided it would be a good marketing decision to use some of the Nintendo properties to maximize profits. In 1993, Loopy Landscapes would reopen with new Nintendo-themed attractions.

This was how it remained for the last 30 or so years. North Star Entertainment would split off in 2011, with the part owning the Nintendo parks becoming Sentinel Entertainment while the rest of North Star Entertainment would become absorbed by TOHO Parks. Sentinel would announce the park would be shutting down after the 2023 season due to it having underwhelming attendance in contrast to other parks owned by the company. So I knew I had to revisit this place on the final day of operation on October 29, 2023.

Only 26 rides were at the park, including 4 coasters. These were:

Waluigi WMX: A 2009 Intamin prefabricated woodie. It's easily the strongest ride in the park and is probably the only reason as to why thoosies would've wanted to visit the place. It had some unbelievably crazy ejector airtime and stunning forces, especially with those Timberliners. A definite loss for sure.

Cobrat's Curse: A 1971 Schwarzkopf Speed Racer. This one was tamer and shorter in comparison to something like The Golden Bob-Omb at Super Mario World California, but it still was a fun experience.

Wings to the Sky: A Vekoma Flying Dutchman originally built in 2002 for the Nintendo Land Resort, but was removed in 2015 and relocated here in 2016. If you've ever done Batwing at Six Flags America, Sailor Galaxia at Animeland, Firehawk at Kings Island, or Waddlewing Warning at Lake Opelucid, you know what to expect in terms of layout. This Flying Dutchman clone was running a bit rough, though.

Pichu Bros Rascal Railway: A 1993 Zierer Large Tivoli. Once again, it's nothing to write home about if you've ridden this ride model before like I have. So since I have already stated my thoughts about this ride model before, I shall provide a fun fact about this particular version of the ride. It's the only coaster within the entire park to ever be relocated after closure. It became Spy Family: The Ride at Animeland New York in 2024.

So, what else did the park have?

  • Dover View Skytower (Intamin Gyro Tower, 1973)
  • Phanto's Fury (Wisdom Tornado, 2003)
  • Birdo Whirl (Hrubetz Round-Up, 1971)
  • Tomodachi Train (Crown Metal Engineering Train, 1971)
  • StreetPass Plaza Carousel (Chance Carousel, 1980)
  • Bee Mario's Hive Jive (HUSS Troika, 1976)
  • Toadsworth Antiques (Arrow Antique Cars, 1971)
  • Mario Karts (Hampton Rides Mario Karts, 1978)
  • Yoshi's Egg Dandy (Arrow Space Whirl, 1973)
  • Luigi Circuit (J&J Amusements Go-Karts, 1993)
  • Eagle Chomps (Bisch-Rocco Flying Scooters, 1971)
  • Daisy's Sarasaland Spinner (Eli Bridge Company Scrambler, 1981)
  • Wario Stormforce 95 (Hopkins Shoot-the-Chute, 1995)
  • Tanooki Rosalina's Tail Wind (Zierer Wave Swinger, 1974)
  • The Great Gardevoir (Eyerly Aircraft Company Monster, 1971)
  • Deliberd Deck (Chance Ferris Wheel, 1976)
  • PikaDodge (Soli Dodgems, 1979)
  • Hoopa Loopa (Larson Super Loop, 2018)
  • Boisterous Cloysters (Sellner Tilt-A-Whirl, 2003)
  • The PokéFloats (Zamperla Balloon Race, 1989)
  • Dialga's River of Time (Intamin River Rapids, 1988)

Out of all of these flat rides, I believe most of them found a new home. Great Gardevoir was SBNO during my visit, but thankfully it was relocated and refurbished.

So my thoughts? It wasn't really a park worth chasing after unless you REALLY wanted that Waluigi's WMX credit. Even then, it doesn't have as sufficient of a ride lineup as the other Nintendo parks owned by Sentinel Entertainment, severely limiting the experience. Even if the park was still open today, I'd likely only recommend the park to locals who've never been to a Nintendo park or the extremely desperate, credit-hungry thoosies.

Even then, a better, more complete option for a theme park that isn't too far away is Nintendo's Grand Island in Baltimore.

Ever wondered why The Mad Piano existed? A newly-discovered anecdote from Shingyaru Mintmobile explains everything.

One day within Shingyaru Mintmobile's house in Kyoto, his 100 girlfriends had to go out to a convention in Shinjuku to work at their maid café to bake some hidden gems for the weekend, leaving him to watch over the house while they were gone.

On Sunday morning, Shingyaru Mintmobile was rummaging through his attic and discovered something he had never remembered seeing. A genuine, old-fashioned, Showa-era music box! So, he decided to let it play a song, but midway through the very mellow piece, the main spring within the music box had popped off and nearly hit the indie dev in the eye! Thankfully, Shingyaru Mintmobile had a lot of Great Skill and was able to make a lightning-fast dodge.

He realized the music box was possessed by an evil youkai and it started chasing him down the stairs and through the hallways! But he could only run but so far, since he was now cornered against the wall of his own house...he started begging and crying and all hope had seemed lost...

BUT THE 100 GIRLFRIENDS CAME BACK!!!!

They were disgusted by the sight of seeing that evil music box obake tormenting their senpai and got to work destroying it, bit by bit until the youkai finished its reign of terror!

When he told his colleagues about his experience the following Monday, no one believed his story. This forced him to take out his trauma by designing an enemy known as "The Mad Piano", based on that music box that scarred him!!

Obviously, none of the other devs nor most of the players understood the lore behind this enemy or how it got into the game, but it definitely became significant as an icon of "horrifying moments within weejo games".

So just remember, if you thought the Mad Piano was scary, just imagine what Shingyaru Mintmobile had to go through in order to design this foe.
