Hey everyone,

My old MacBook Air has pretty much stopped working and multiple people have told me it’s likely a motherboard issue. Because of that, the laptop itself doesn’t seem to have much resale value now.

I opened it up and removed the SSD. Sharing photos/details here.

Mac details:

  • MacBook Air A1466

SSD details:

  • Samsung SSD
  • Model: MZ-JPV128S/0A2
  • 128GB

What I’m trying to understand:

  1. Is this SSD still usable independently?
  2. Can I recover/access the data from it somehow?
  3. What kind of adapter/enclosure do I need?
  4. Is this a standard NVMe SSD or some Apple proprietary format?
  5. Any other parts from this MacBook that are still useful/sellable?

Would really appreciate guidance from people who’ve recovered data from old MacBooks or reused these SSDs before.

Hey everyone,

I’m buying a new car in Mumbai, but my Aadhaar card still has my hometown address from MP. I currently live in Mumbai in a rented apartment.

The dealer is saying:

  • Either I pay around ₹5,000 as “adjustment charges”
  • Or I personally visit the RTO office to handle it

I’m honestly not sure:

  • What exactly this charge is for
  • Whether this is a legitimate charge or just dealership convenience fees
  • Whether this situation is common

Has anyone gone through something similar?

  • What did you do in your case?
  • Did you pay or handle it yourself?
  • Any issues with registration because of address mismatch?

Would really appreciate guidance from people who’ve dealt with Mumbai RTOs recently.

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for a CA who can help with:

  • GST returns & export-of-service compliance
  • ITR filing
  • Tax-saving / investment strategy
  • HUF management
  • General advisory for freelancing/business structure

What I value most:

  • Proactive communication
  • Responsiveness
  • Someone who spots issues before they become problems

I’m currently based in Mumbai. Not mandatory, but would be nice if we could meet once every ~6 months.

A bit about my situation:

  • Product/Tech background
  • Currently freelancing
  • Payments come in USD
  • Mostly working with 1 major US client

I already had a CA earlier, but honestly didn’t have a great experience.

At this point:

  • I manage most GST work myself
  • I do a lot of my own tax/ITR planning research
  • My CA was mainly helping with filing forms

So now I’m looking for someone more competent and genuinely helpful long-term.

Would also love advice on:

  • How to judge whether a CA is actually good
  • Red flags to watch out for
  • Individual CA vs small firm vs online platforms

And if there are any CAs here experienced with freelancers/export-of-services, feel free to comment or DM.

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I regularly use my SBI debit card and was consistently getting around 1000 SBI Rewardz points for spends of roughly ₹50k/day.

I was mainly using it for paying credit card bills, and points were getting credited properly earlier. But suddenly, after April 8, I stopped receiving points completely.

I specifically checked transactions done on:

  • 9th April
  • 10th April
  • 11th April

…and no points were credited.

Did SBI change something recently?

  • Any new caps?
  • MCC exclusions?
  • Reward suspension/delay?
  • Anyone else facing this?

Would appreciate if someone knows what changed or if this is just a temporary issue/glitch.

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

Firstly, thanks a lot to this group — your inputs really helped me narrow things down. I’m now almost finalizing the Hyundai Venue HX10 (petrol automatic).

Just had one last question before I lock things in.

I’m going ahead via leasing, so insurance will be handled by the leasing company. Wanted to understand:

1) What all extra costs should I expect beyond ex-showroom?

  • Registration, road tax, handling charges — anything else dealers usually add?
  • Any “hidden” costs I should push back on?

2) Accessories — what should I take from dealer vs outside?

From dealer:

  • Which accessories actually make sense to bundle?

Do myself / outside:

  • Seat covers, mats, screen protector, etc. — better to get outside?

3) Must-have vs avoidable add-ons

  • What are genuinely useful for long-term ownership?
  • What is just dealership upselling?

Would love to hear from Venue owners or anyone who recently bought a Hyundai.

Thanks again — this group has been super helpful 🙌
