Hey everyone,
I’m buying a new car in Mumbai, but my Aadhaar card still has my hometown address from MP. I currently live in Mumbai in a rented apartment.
The dealer is saying:
- Either I pay around ₹5,000 as “adjustment charges”
- Or I personally visit the RTO office to handle it
I’m honestly not sure:
- What exactly this charge is for
- Whether this is a legitimate charge or just dealership convenience fees
- Whether this situation is common
Has anyone gone through something similar?
- What did you do in your case?
- Did you pay or handle it yourself?
- Any issues with registration because of address mismatch?
Would really appreciate guidance from people who’ve dealt with Mumbai RTOs recently.
Thanks!
