I (32m) met her (32f) on Instagram about 18 months ago and started a great friendship. We bonded over a love of mutual interest eg The Simpsons, Wrestling, Heavy Metal music etc.

We live in different countries, I live in the Isle of Man, and she lives in England, we did admit to each other that we have a bit of an attraction to her and her to me. However I work in a very high paying job and I don't overly believe LDR works, so we put a nail in the coffin on that one.

However, she has since started dating another man who lives in a different country. I am nothing but happy for her and I honestly hope it's a relationship that goes the whole way.

However since this, I have noticed that the level of chat has gone from messaging all day every day to me getting like 8-10 messages a day. I do suffer from abandonment issues due to childhood trauma and have Rejection Sensitivity disorder and it's all really got to me. When I've asked about it, it's always tired from work or something like that, however in the past if tired from work we still text all day everyday

I have considered telling her I feel like this, but don't want the friendship to go away completely. However, I am considering it because I've also gotta look out for my own mental health.

I have been going to download consecutively now since 2024. I also went in 2014,15 & 16 but then took a break because finances, COVID all that jazz.

I do RIP hotel with my wife and we booked 2026 pretty much on the travel home from last year's event.

I've always struggling with my mental health for many reasons. In Oct 2025 it took the worst turn and I nearly took my own life. Since then, through support of my friends, family and many therapy sessions. I've been on the up and now a month out, I didn't think I would see Download 2026, and I will.

Again, sorry for the rant but, yeah let's have a good fucking time at the sacred grounds
