Help. Fell down rabbit hole for a second runabout bike and can't decide. UK.
Hi all. Preface: 6ft1", pushing 90kg, strong roadie.
Looking for a bike to live discreetly in a fabia boot because literally nowhere else to put it.
Ideally it should suit being ridden fairly hard on short bursts to the shops, gym, work occasionally, short distances of 3 miles a run. No major hills. Essentially using it to top up time in saddle for racing.
So far I've shyed away from Decathlon offerings due to being on the absolute limit of height and weight - I WANT the 1 second folder but I think it'll be twitchy and on the edge. It is convenient af though. Put off by 16in wheels (single wall) and weight total on leftie fork.
I've started looking at cheaper terns like the B7 but again I'm coming towards the limit and get the feedback that they are flexy under load and will be worse with seatpost nearly at max.
This brings me to spending money i don't want to, but the BYB P8 is looking like it's hands down superior and stiff enough to take some abuse, obviously not the fastest folder though but fair compromise with rigidity and total payload.
I've looked around on ebay and am finding too many dreamers with 10 year old used terns expecting brompton value, so I'm now venturing off down new/nearly new because I've found some better deals.
Now totally overthinking it.
Any suggestions?
Cheers
