For those struggling with numb Force Feedback - turn up the in game gain and turn down your wheelbase.

I always run my wheel base nearly at it's full force, 25 Nm. As such I tune down the gain in various sims to whatever level I feel comfortable with and get great force feedback with zero risk of clipping and plenty of headroom.

In AC Rally I've been struggling with incredibly little steering feel, especially on gravel. Seeing others say they love how it feels had me thinking I must be doing something wrong because I honestly had zero feedback unless I was hard on the brakes on the gravel stages, and even tarmac was pretty numb.

I was running around 35% gain in game. Turned this up to 80%, turned my wheelbase forces down accordingly, and wow - MUCH more detail when the front axle isn't heavily loaded! Not sure why the sim does this, seems like the FFB signal is somehow compressed to a narrower range with high gain, but it sure brings up those lighter forces to a more sensible level.

Only sim I've driven that requires this, but the FFB is so different anyway that it already required its own profile in the wheelbase software.

Simucube Active Pedal Pro vs Moza mBooster - bigger difference than reviews suggest?

Hi all, just sharing some experience from my recent simrig upgrades. In September / November last year I decided I wanted to switch out my gear (VNM Xtreme base, VX-Pro pedals, Cube Controls wheel) to an all-in-one ecosystem, in order to simplify my rig setup and cut down on the amount of USB devices.

The only options at the time were Moza, Fanatec or Simmagic, and Moza had the mBooster active pedals that had been getting great reviews so I gave them a go. Got a Moza wheelbase, wheel and two mBooster pedals.

The pedals were a big disappointment. They were noisy during use, they had a constant coil whine type noise when idle, and I could always feel some amount of grainyness in the travel. As a brake pedal it was OK and I eventually got it set up to a point where I liked it, but the noise remained and the haptic feedback was never as direct or crisp as the Simmagic Haptic Transducer I had on my VX-Pro's.

As a throttle it was straight up terrible, grainy feel, noisy, and it felt slow no matter what settings I used..

So I returned all the Moza gear, went back to my VNM Xtreme and VX-Pro setup, until Simucube launched their SC3 lineup this year. All in one ecosystem, high end, just the ticket. Have had the wheelbase for a few months now, very pleased although I would have been equally happy with the VNM Xtreme as they are very very closely matched.

# To the point of this post:

Yesterday I got a set of Active Pedal Pro's, and wow.... they really are notably better. Much more so than reviews would have led me to believe. The motion is incredibly smooth, to the point where I forget they are not normal pedals unless I am very specifically feeling for a "texture" in the travel.

The brake pedal feel is great, smoother, noiseless, considerably better haptics than the mBoosters, greater range of configurability. And as a throttle it just works. I've had had regular pedals with a less smooth travel than these. Now I finally have a pedal set that is as good as the VX-Pro + Simmagic Transducer combo, but with the added bonus of incredibly easy adjustments and different profiels for road cars, rally cars and race cars.

# My conclusion:

The mBooster pedals are half the price of the Active Pedal Pro's. As a brake pedal I would say they are good value for money. They are not as good as the Active Pedal Pro's, but they aren't half as good as the price would suggest either. I'd say you are getting 75%-80% of the performance for 50% of the price.

As a throttle pedal I would avoid the mBooster entirely. It just does not react fast enough to work properly, and mechanically the tolerances felt too sloppy for this to be something fixable through software. The grind of the ball-screw will not go away, and I tested both the pedals I had to see if one was worse than the other but they were identical.

Simucubes Active Pedal Pro's are just great. No complaints. They are enormous though, and I've had to move my entire rig further from the wall to accomodate them, but that, and the cost, are the only downsides.
