Holay sheeeeeeet!

So I try not to play this game to much because I want to keep some of the rally magic alive when its fully released. Anyway, given the update I decided to see whats up and gawd-dayum! Im actually stunned at the feedback im getting now.

My go to is the i20; now I can feel the harmonic engine vibrations is the wheel. Its ridiculous!

Went back to some of the challenges, and the Peugeot has a deeper engine register and guess what ... the harmonics on the wheel are more more pronounced.

Anyway, I feel like wet tarmac is still a little off, but its exponentially better then it was before the update. I can now coast into 6 corners with out understeering.

Can't wait for this to be finished, but as they say good things come to those who wait.

For those struggling with numb Force Feedback - turn up the in game gain and turn down your wheelbase.

I always run my wheel base nearly at it's full force, 25 Nm. As such I tune down the gain in various sims to whatever level I feel comfortable with and get great force feedback with zero risk of clipping and plenty of headroom.

In AC Rally I've been struggling with incredibly little steering feel, especially on gravel. Seeing others say they love how it feels had me thinking I must be doing something wrong because I honestly had zero feedback unless I was hard on the brakes on the gravel stages, and even tarmac was pretty numb.

I was running around 35% gain in game. Turned this up to 80%, turned my wheelbase forces down accordingly, and wow - MUCH more detail when the front axle isn't heavily loaded! Not sure why the sim does this, seems like the FFB signal is somehow compressed to a narrower range with high gain, but it sure brings up those lighter forces to a more sensible level.

Only sim I've driven that requires this, but the FFB is so different anyway that it already required its own profile in the wheelbase software.

Anyone else care that all of the car History's reek of chatgpt?

They are all just full of the same chatgpt glazing language and all contain phrases like

  • "it's not just X, it's Y"
  • several "it's X, Y, and Z"
  • "...incredible, sophisticated engineering earned them an iconic, world class status among the most competitive and boundary pushing..."

Just read through them all, it's obviously written by an LLM. My point being does anyone else care? I love reading car lore in game and sure this is just as informative, but it still feels like such a cheap move. Like if they can't be bothered to write it themselves why even include it? I could just chatgpt the car lore myself.

Like with using AI art, it feels disrespectful especially for a paid product. I understand it's early access so hopefully they plan to revise them to sound less blatant, if anyone else even cares

Edit: I get it, it's probably the lowest of priority and it's inclusion is more than what most PC racing sims offer. Still though, even something so brief such as Dirt Rally 2's descriptions add more to the personality of the game than this.

Car descriptions are still part of the games art at least in my opinion, this feels like it detracts from that experience as someone who enjoys reading them.

Impreza steering rotation?

It says 360 degrees - does anyone know the original rotation of Sainz / Mcrae gr.a impreza?

I set it to 720 as a test and that feels way more realistic imo

Cant find the info online - but surely the Impreza in ACR is a modern car/build - the seats, prodrive equipment, the exhaust - its all modern standards right?

i really gotta start writing down the tune-ups i make for each vehicle on each kind of surface...cause i really had them dialed in before the update wiped everything clean

New cars we need

We need to pressure the AC Rally team to add the Ford Escort MK2 RS1800 & 1993 Celica GT-FOUR with the modified turbo with the full game release.
What other cars y’all want added to the game?

Starting Without Handbrake Assist

Has anyone else had issues starting without handbrake assist? With the handbrake engaged the car still creeps forward when revving, even trying with less throttle or with both handbrake and regular brakes. Is there something I'm missing? I'm playing with controller and all default controls.

EPIC SAVE with the COOPER!!!

Joking aside, version 0.4 feels incredibly good. The cars are finally starting to convey a sense of weight and realism they lacked before. And what better example than the Mini Cooper: a car with a high center of gravity and a weight distribution that, as soon as you aggressively enter a corner, shifts all the weight to the outside axle, lifts the inside wheels, and sends you straight into the weeds, eating dirt.

And while we're at it, I want to congratulate the development team on something huge: the FIA has chosen Assetto Corsa Rally as the official game of its first rally esports competition, the FIA Esports Global Rally Tour. That's no small feat; it's a massive recognition of the level this simulator is reaching. So thank you for the work you're doing, because it shows in every update, and this proves it. I'm sure this video will reach you, and I hope it does.

What an experience!

I've been a motorsports fan since childhood, but for some reason, rally racing was never really my focus. When Assetto Corsa Evo didn't satisfy me, and frankly, online competition in other simulations started to get tiresome, I started looking for something new and finally had the opportunity to try AC Rally. My God, what a satisfying driving experience! I'm only driving a Mini Cooper for now, but I'm enjoying it immensely. I was a little skeptical about the content, but seeing the legendary rally cars arrive with each update is also great. Honestly, I never expected to have this kind of experience. I can't wait to get out of work and start driving; I haven't felt this way in years.

The more I learn about the game, the more I'm dying to try out this new 306.

For me wales with rwd is unplayable. Anyone else?

It may be only me, but since 0.4 handling is very unpredictable on gravel with rwd. I’m really disappointed because every time I see “Downloading content” when starting the game, I’m afraid it will be completely different maybe the worse way (I know, this is what buying beta means), and this time it was the case. any way to revert back to 0.3?

V0.4 fixed PXN CB1 button box support and improved significantly VR via UEVR

As the title says, this button box is not messing with the menu anymore, which is great.
On top of it, VR via UEVR is way more comfortable than before. I had the impression that there is much less eye strain, no flickering textures or binocular overlap glitches anymore.
It just keeps getting better and better, after each release.
Love it!!

FIA partnership and V0.4

This is amazing for sure, but it can be bigger than we might think, having a partnership like this could help accelerate the development of the sim, more resources coming in, maybe more people in the dev team could mean that content comes out quicker and we’ll end up having more stages and cars than we thought, hoping for the best, this new update improved the experience considerably, the ffb feels good, maybe a few improvements left but I can really feel the car and what it’s doing/going to do, the breaking feels more natural and doesn’t lock up easily like before, even with a light press of the break pedal, handbrake turns are no longer a Russian roulette, I can naturally use the handbrake without being afraid of the car snapping irrealistically we’re definitely in the right direction.
