Anyone else here love studying hidden wisdom, but without intent to ever practice?

Religion paired with trauma can be a massive discourager of practicing. However, due to some things outside of my control, and maybe a few within it, I am drawn to study. Am I the only one?

My church pastor believes anyone who drinks any alcohol is an addict, that once an addict always an addict, and that body modifications means on drugs and shouldn't be hired. He votes.

I cannot believe in any kind of Christianity like this. This is not even touching controversial biblical matters of other social magnitudes concerning relationships. This guy has almost completely destroyed my faith. He harps in every sermon a little stupid piece about how getting saved means you have to change everything about yourself. Of course, he only means things he disapproves of. He does not preach the Bible in fact he thinks people who do follow the Bible or guys who have beards, are somehow not equal as humans to people who look like himself.

This is extremely scary. If this guy owned a business, he would be the most bigoted jerk who would violate EEOC all the freaking time.

I cannot support Christianity at all or related government issues if people cannot see past appearance or clothing.

In fact, I'm so angry about this that I have gotten political and I hope that jerks like this end up having zero influence over anyone including their own family because it's so destructive.

I have personally seen this pastor kick a poor woman out of the church whose husband was abusive and literally assaulted someone on Church premises. They labeled the woman as a troubled maker because the husband who lies told them she was "on drugs". I've seen them ask poor people to leave the church. I've seen him show extreme favoritism to anyone with as much or more money than he has.

I cannot go to that place and I am sorry that I ever spent any time there. Shame on Christian religious culture. Shame on people who pervert the Bible and use it to hurt others. I used to be like that, but I learned. What's his excuse?

TW: I found out an "alleged" r*pist was offered a job due to his intimidating demeanor, as safety inspector. Hello EEOC?

He was reported for having allegedly raped a woman. This is not the kind of person I would want in my company or in any position of being a supervisor? How long until he hurts a fellow employee? What recourse is there?

I think that you think that your nervous system is too fried from trauma to be able to function on its own. Do you believe in full healing, in this life?

"Why didn't she just leave the abuser? She must be stupid". (No, the person making the m that assumption is actually ignorant and too lazy to educate themselves on basic abuse dynamics and systemically projected abuse patterns.)

"Why do they have pink hair? They must be stupid/lazy/rebellious/on drugs." (No, they are just happy expressing themselves and if they are neurodivergent which causes then to prefer it, then you're also likely being a bigot.)

"Why can't they just get there life together and be on time or get up 'early?. They must lack discipline." (No, they likely might have neurodivergent related sleep phases or PTSD and be biologically different circadian rhythms than you or your stupid organization's ignorant leadership) Bonus, they might also be horribly exhausted from a LIFETIME of ignorant people lazily making oversimplified and uneducated assumptions.

"Why don't you just get a better paying job and make more money? You must not have the right "mindset." (No, no other "mindset" besides one of fact based realism about societal practices of ignorance, blame and exclusion is realistically helpful to overcome those ancient obstacles).

Simple, lazy explanations (Occam's razor) might work in engineering, but it's predictably overused and too "trendy" in a world that only cares about production and should not be even considered as relates to human and humane issues. Technology related terms misapplied for humans, like the phrase "letting off steam" became popular to describe human issues in a world trending with steam powered machines, again because of trend hysteria.

Keep machines and humans separate because humans aren't and shouldn't be treated as machines. Especially emotional or neurodivergent victims of systemically facilitated means of exploitation, bullying or abuse.

Dear Punk guy,

I saw your new short Mohawk, black pants with pins and some kind of battle vest. Thank you

It's my dream one day people who look like this can be treated as human as other humans, and not be denied jobs or devices, borc assumed "drug seeking" simply for looking different.

I considered suicide earlier this same day, after going to a Christian coffee meet group. Even though they have known me for years. They just never cared to really remember me I guess because I didn't answer the "what do you do?" Question with a career that makes enough money to make them want to remember me.

I feel my whole life trying to be a Christian like Christ and be nice to punks like you (especially here), was wasted. Christians think I'm "worldly" because I enjoy music, and punks think I'm a bootlicker because I believe women living alone should have full access to any guns for self defense

Anyway, you're an inspiration and thank you..
