CachyOS feels like it hit out of nowhere. I'm out of the loop - why's it taking off like this?

I've been on Linux for about a year now, and I've seen a few distros spike in popularity. Pop!_OS and Bazzite are two that come to mind.

I played around with a few when I started, but ultimately settled on the Fedora-based Nobara. It's been great! Rock-solid, gaming-focused, easy to swap out proton versions and whatnot.

But, I suddenly see CachyOS everywhere in comments and forums. It feels so sudden, almost meteoric - is it just that good? I've been using proton-cachyos, and it seems fine, although I don't really know how to tell the difference between it and other protons. Is there some secret sauce inCachyOS that makes for a better user experience? I'm really curious!

(I'd consider trying it out, but I've got so much installed and configured on my machine, the thought of re-doing it all gives me a headache!)

My first 3D Printer was from Bambu Lab. My next one won't be. Have other manufacturers caught up in affordability and ease-of-use?

Hey, all.

With the Bambu LabuLab nastiness going on, I'm convinced my next printer won't be from them. But, just short while back their printers were the best you could get at that super affordable price.
Is that still true? If not, what does the landscape look like now, have other manufacturers built comparable machines that matches the A1's...

  • Low price point (Biggest factor)
  • Genuinely high-quality prints
  • Easy-of-use (not needing to calibrate, auto-bed level etc.)
  • Speed (less important, but still)

Keen to hear what everyone thinks!

Hay, all!

Hoping for some advice. Our group meets up pretty regularly, and while we've certainly got our favs like Wingspan, Bohnanza, and Brew, everyone's always happy to try something new. So, I bring new games out every once in a while to keep things fresh.

Last time this happened, I brought over Leviathan Wilds, and I'm a bit embarrassed to say my teach was horrendous. I'm not sure why this time was different (normally I'm fine, I watch how-to-plays, the whole 9 yards), but I kept not knowing answers to Qs and spent a ton of time flipping though the rulebook to clarify rules (unsuccessfully).

So, they didn't have a great time playing. Understandable, but I'd love to get them back into it. I've played the game since with another group who loved it, but it's just not made a great first impression in the first group. Had this happened to anyone else, and how did you recover from it?

Thanks!
