Paul Potts Gives His Opinion On The New BGT Format! 📣

Paul Potts Gives His Opinion On The New BGT Format! 📣

I can see why he’s making some of these arguments as if some of the acts from recent years competed back then he’d have probably had a slimmer chance of making the Final let alone winning given they’re more notable compared to how he was back then and to be fair similar to Paul I too used to detest both acts residing in other countries competing on the show and acts competing more than twice though in recent years I’ve warmed to such things.

I am pondering what his opinion on the Overuse of the Golden Buzzer is in the Auditions though alongside the Original formula it followed (cough thanks for breaking that Bruno; I guess nobody can say you didn’t make an impact in such a short space of time cough) given how he seems to express a distaste for the Live Show Golden Buzzer though oddly he highlights how the Public & Judges used to get a say solely based on the Top 3 even if the judges would on occasion split the vote down the middle; again I can get his argument as without it maybe some Finalists from the last couple of years wouldn’t have made it but at the same time his argument is a bit flawed given Series 11 was solely Public Vote based via Top 2 and Series 14 saw the judges pick a Top 3 every night, Amanda get a casting vote in the event of a tie in judges votes and the Public Voting on the remaining acts on a weekly basis only for the Finalists to all be revealed at the beginning of the Final (Also I can’t see Magical Bones ever having been a Finalist over Sirine Jahangir without that format given she placed 2nd in the Public Vote behind Sign Along With Us who for some reason weren’t even in the Judges Top 3 acts of the night?).

Kung Fu Panda 4's Largest Weak Spot

Kung Fu Panda 2 aired again on ITV2 on Sunday and it made me realise how similar the Shrek & KFP Franchises truly are; each Shrek movie teaches the Green Giant a lesson and Shrek the Third's hate comes from how whilst it achieves teaching a lesson it opts to teach an irresponsible one in the vein of “You don’t have to take responsibility, you can always find someone else to do it for you”, however KFP differs slightly in the disdain for 4 being that it doesn’t further The Journey of the Panda given the first 3 movies focus on his training; Kung Fu & Adaptability for 1, The Voyage of Inner Peace for 2 and The Quest for Spirituality for 3, though the fourth movie is solely a lesson in moving on? There was no training there and it just further utilised aspects from 1 & 3 and to a much lesser extent 2 though the true question is what remained for the Panda Lad to truly learn?

Edit: In a similar vein the Puss in Boots movies do something similar with lessons due to their connections to the Shrek franchise even if its lesson of There’s Good in Everyone If You Look Hard Enough is weak at best hence the disdain for it whilst The Last Wish is encapsulated perfectly by Puss “I will never stop fighting for **this life**” to me equates to having learnt to value is own mortality now that he’s 8 Lives down.

I don’t remember How to Train Your Dragon bar the first but they likely do a similar thing as the first is a stronger moral of Acceptance of Others when compared to Artie at the end of Shrek 3. Technically speaking Penguins of Madagascar has Beauty Is In The Eye of the Beholder in a certain vein but the Madagascar movies don’t really linger on such lessons and mostly focus on character growth which makes them stand out a lot more. Haven’t seen The Croods so can’t comment on that franchise. I mention all of this because each of these is a point of growth when compared to KFP4 which is a true point of stagnation within its franchise

Wes Fuller in the new Primula Squeezed Cheese Advert!

For those who don’t remember Wes is the male nurse from Dee Dee's black maternity care storyline; he was the brother of Zoe Harker the midwife who delivered Laila and gave Dee Dee poor medical care both before and after the birth hence Dee Dee discharged herself in spite of medical advice not to in the direct aftermath.

Kevin Finn the guy who played Wes is originally from Canada though in recent years has resided in Barnsley, Yorkshire. Kevin Finn also reached the Semi-Finals of the 17th series of Britain's Got Talent in 2024. The advert can be found here for anybody interested in giving it a watch!

Cordle #6

Feel free to copy your scoring again like the last couple of weeks but please remember to remove the link to the site given how it’ll only confuse me into thinking you’ve taken the time to make a different one and input the squares yourself with your own emojis. 🤣

I had to really fight hard not to make it a one word line; perhaps another time and another place?

Have You Seen This Gregg?

This week marked the halfway point of Series 21, though surprisingly for the first time Joel’s Gregg did not make an appearance. Obviously it could only appear in 3/4 tasks as at the time of the pre-recorded Team Tasks we have been lead to believe Joel never had to show it hence his confusion in the first episodes Studio Segment where he did early doors. Did Joel and the Gregg split up over creative differences, did it hatch, did they not show a task with it and as such a later episode will showcase 2 or am I overthinking The Case of the Mysteriously Missing Gregg the Egg?
