Now that I have an ‘88, it was like it was meant to be. Initially, I was shocked they managed to keep it running for so long, as older cars have to fail at some point. And then I asked the fabled question; “What truck was it?”

To which I was told it was a ranger. Now wonder it lasted forever.

Unfortunately he sold it about 3 years ago as something was wrong with the brakes.

I started off with basic store-bought ham, not smoked nor honey glazed. And decided that was too basic of a sandwich to do. So I decided to wing it by melting dark brown sugar and honey together and making a smooth glaze over the ham.

I put a lid on it and flipped it every minute or so as to prevent the sugar from burning. And I got a lovely ham that had a crisp rim and a juicy center.

Then I toasted some thick-bread with some butter via a brush and gave it a crispy exterior while leaving the interior with its natural bouncy/squishy form.

Then I made some eggs til they were cooked but runny, and threw them onto the sandwich with some provolone and salt.

It’s basic, yes. But it’s 10pm and wanted to try something I’ve never done before. I felt the corner of my eyes welt up a bit after the initial bite.

I think I should add some shredded beef and onion next time. Looks simple, but tastes phenomenal.
