When it comes to social media or just group Whatsapp chat (with friends) I notice that some people have a very low threshold to block you, while personally I'm being very reluctant to block people.

Whats is the psychology behind those people at both spectrums?

In the new WA username feature you can use your FB or IG username as WA username. Often it will be FIRSTNAME.LASTNAME. Yes I agree its a improvement if you don't want to share your number with strangers but would you share your real name?

Would you choose for a alias or use your real name as username for WA?
