Been using Bazzite the last 3 weeks and I enjoy it but it hasn't certain applications baked into the OS itself so it's frustrating for certain things.

I've been sussing other OS the last few days and I think I've decided on Nobara.

Things I enjoy of Bazzite was the app store it had, how it pre installs drivers for GPU etc. but I'll also be switching from a Nvidia GPU to a AMD GPU in the next week or so, wondering how easy that side of the house is and anything else I should look at?

Also settling on Nobara as it's also based on fedora

Moving to an amd GPU in the next week or so. Just wondering how steam os is going on desktop?

Currently using Bazzite but it's a bit restricted having some programs baked into its actual os build.

I'm wanting something similar but a bit more open as I love modded games. I.e stalker gamma etc.

I'm thinking either STEAMOS, cachyos or pop! And there was another nabora or something?

Either way I enjoy Bazzite cause of it's little app store but was something similar but a bit more open. Just wondering general thoughts.

Have a steam deck so an famil with steamos to s degree.

Can I enable fast boot once I've removed windows completely?

Really enjoying bazzite and won't be going back to windows. Can I enable fast boot once I go to only have 1 OS on my drive?

Currently running an AM4 RYZ 7 5700G, 32gb

DDR4 and a 3080ti.

Should I move to AM5 and DDR5. Or should I just wait for the next generation?

Hey everyone,

So I literally installed Bazzite last night and loving it.

How ever when ever I boot Stalker 2 on steam, when I load into my game after hitting new game etc, it crashes? I searched online and it says I need to rebase and go back to anything before 20251230, I'm now trying the last one from November 2025 and still having issues?

I'm selecting nvidia dx as this is the only one that has builds from 2025

Any guidance would be appreciated.

QUESTION: Going to be getting a amd gpu, currently have nvidia and used the wizard and selected nvidia obviously. So whats the go with switching to an amd? I.e. is it just a gpu driver wipe or should I do a full clean install? Im assuming theres a clean install guide on bazzite webpage? Tia.

Recently rebuilt my pc last week, re installed Windows 10 but was looking into bazzite pre re-build. I went full moron yesterday morning and did a clean install of windows again before work. Said fuck it, tonight I'm installing bazzite.

And fuck man... I get it. I initially thought maybe you guys are just circlejerkin it without realising like a crazy echo chamber. But the guides on the Web pages were so smooth to follow and everything was up and running first try.

I have a steam deck so that threw me into Linux originally but now on my desktop feels like im using desktop mode from my deck. Love it.
