Has anyone swapped their sticks on the white model to TMR?

I have an issue where the G9 controller on my tab 3 stays active after I lock the tablet. It seems to be draining the battery. It eventually does turn off but after a little while, is this normal is there a setting that I can change so it shuts off when I lock the tablet?

Any help as appreciated thank you

Wondering if there is a go-to option that everybody uses or what are the most popular. I bought the G9 controller but now I'm having second thoughts about it as I want to use my tablet as a tablet as well without the ordeal of putting it in and out of the controller housing. Thanks a lot for your input
