Every spring I get so inspired watching the wildlife behind our home. Especially the evening visitors🦇This year I wanted to pay tribute in a new way as I am getting tired of my old methods of painting.

I used cut matte board and painted the pieces individually to create depth. It kinda reminds me of those cut paper puppets I had as a kid, or shadowbox art. - idk. I'm still learning and growing with this one.

Anyway! I thought it would bring you all some joy and whimsy on this Saturday morning ❤️

Edit: (Since I had people already asking how to buy these! )😱 Although these ones will be for sale at my local market this weekend, I am trying to work out the logistics of shipping my originals so that others can enjoy! If you want to keep up to date on when new ones are ready in my shop, you can follow me on either my Instagram or Etsy!

I made a short process video of my newest painting <3 (I used cut matte board and acrylic paint)

This is my third piece I made using this technique and its probably my favorite! <3 Though I think i'm finally ready to start working a little larger because painting those tiny leaves almost drove me mad lol.

Last pic is of the spunky culprit. Silly dude doesn't even try to catch them, just enjoys the thrill of the chase.
