Anyone try ECT or ketamine?
My current doctor is against it for me because I have memory problems that ECT can intensify and ketamine is too expensive where I live and she thinks it won't work

My symptoms don't really point to ADHD but I can't focus on anything. If I'm still I have to move my legs, if I try to read or watch something and I feel I got the reason for a scene, got the information that moves the plot, I feel a desire to skip it. I've been dumbing down my media for some time and now I can only read shallow manga because it's easy to pass the page and keep my fingers and mind occupied.
For context I'm not in the States
I remember reading about this guy once but never found it again, did I hallucinate it?
From what I remember he was born in a Europe in a french speaking country, from a working class family, and was a socialist in his youth. He was a psychologist and academic and changed his views to fascism. He was an working adult and active in world war II. Im pretty sure he never entered politics and wrote about the psychology of the masses and the relation of psychology and fascism.
When I try to google these traits it usually show some french and belgian politicians but no dice. I dont know if I conflated the biography of more than one individual. Thanks for any help ive had this doubt for years now before thinking about posting it here.
I'm motivated to ask because my psychologist just listens to what I say and sometimes asks a few things. When we began she said she works with associations. Does that means she believes in a Freudian like model?
Do therapists have to fear the possibility of patients becoming dependant on them?
