Who are getting the 4.0s??

It's no secret that grade inflation is a big problem at Duke, with something like 25% of students ending with 4.0s IIRC. But even among my non-pratt friends, I don't know almost anyone with a 4.0. Maybe I'm just in the wrong circles?

Hey everyone,
I'm a little drunk right now and remembered this subreddit. I was a huge A2C'er in high school and I read genuinely almost every post on here for months, reached out to so many people for advice, had my essays reviewed by T20 alums (before AI took all this over), etc. I did all of the things. Even when I got into Duke, I spent hours upon hours searching here and college confidential for mentions of Duke, for validation that it was a good school, that I had "succeeded." I had terrible self esteem and was upset that I didn't do better. But here, 2 years out, I do have some advice:

You will not care.

After actually being in college, I realize how little everything I cared about mattered. I see now that MIT and Cornell (my old dream schools) would've made me miserable AND been worse for my ever-changing career goals. In general, I realize there is so much more to your (academic) career and indeed to life than you will see here.

Be happy wherever you go. I promise that if you try, you'll love it.

Good luck everyone!

Despite getting the blue liquid thing and wearing the necktie almost the entire game, right before the end I took it off bc I figured there wouldnt be a payoff. Oh how I regret that decision!

Hey everyone, I'm a sophomore in undergrad rn who a couple months ago decided to pursue a PhD... I have experience as a research assistant for a project here and I'll be doing an independent study next semester. However, I'm worried about my chances and just feel unsure about the whole process. Any advice for finding programs/getting in for the next 2 years?

I had an issue with power limiting on my 13, and even well outside the warranty range, just a few emails with support and they're sending me a whole new mainboard... props to FW! Glad I made the right choice
