[Grand Canyon] inner gorge. 1989. This is the guy that literally swam up to our raft in the middle of the Colo. River. The river was very wide at the point, so I gave him a ride across. Very docile. Whip? Gopher? 🤷♂️
Note the scar on his body. Wonder what happened to him?

Panamint and Great Basin? [S. NV and inner gorge Grand Canyon]
Except for coloration are these two not the same? I took the right hand foto at Stone Creek/Grand Canyon abt. four years ago and was told it is a Great Basin rattlesnake.
