[Product Question] Cerave Healing Ointment Tanked

Now that CeraVe done gone and screwed up the good thing they had going for them with the healing ointment.

What other cost-efficient alternatives to the healing ointment are there?

I tried the small 3Oz sample my friend had and this shit was so tacky and sticky that it felt like I rubbed glue on my face.

It used to be my holy grail. Every morning, every night for slugging, on the flight with the dry cabin air, or on the streets in freezing winter and chilly autumn.

Now, I have to break my decade old skin care routine because these people decided to “improve” their perfect formula and I’m not necessarily in a country where these products are readily available or easily accessible. And resellers sell it at triple the price locally, which is absurd.

I wonder if we can contact the Amazon store to see if they have the old formula in stock because I’m afraid I’d have to use something else entirely.

I have been looking at the Aveeno Itch Relief Nighttime balm as a potential replacement.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

I can’t use the aquaphor because of lanolin as I’m afraid it might trigger a flare up of my eczema according to the reviews I’ve see

COSRX Snail Mucin 96 Power Essence vs COSRX Snail Mucin 92 All Day Cream

I am yet to try the latter, but for those who have tried both, which would you recommend, and why?

I had been using the power essence for a year now and honestly I saw that I wasn’t using it properly—applying to damp skin. Ever since I started applying to damp skin, I’ve retained moisture and hydration more.

However, I’m yet to be convinced about the peptide-booster. Idk what use it is to me honestly.

IDK if I use it as a serum or a toner, but so far, I’ve been using it as a toner in the evening. The only thing I can give it flowers for is being gentle on my skin, which I guess is important, given how sensitive my skin is.

For further information, I have dry, sensitive, and eczema-prone skin.

Thank you!

[Sun Care] Applying Mineral Sunscreen with a beauty blender

I know someone somewhere on the planet must have tried it already, but Okay, so I’m very dark skinned, and I have sensitive and eczema prone skin.

Up until earlier this year I was using chemical sunscreen that stung my face EVERY single time I applied it. Not just my chemical sunscreen, but my Cerave daily moisturizing cream started stinging me with every application.

When I went to my dermatologist, she told me I was having a seborrheic eczematic flare.

Now, I am a medical doctor in internal medicine, I’ve only ever known seborrheic dermatitis and Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema).

I didn’t know these two could come together and create the super baby called Seborrheic Eczema.

Since I was young, I always had sensitive skin to the point where I could only use products formulated for babies most times.

Anyway, my dermatologist recommended I switch to mineral sunscreen, which has less chances of triggering or reacting to my flare up, but she also treated it with Tacroz ointment, which did help.

Now, the blue cast. Let’s talk about the blue cast.

The only upside to the blue cast is that it shows you how uneven the sunscreen distribution is, and the downside is that your face is unevenly very blue/grey.

So this morning, I decided, why not blend it out with a damp beauty blender for even distribution.

It worked.

My face is still blue, but at least, it’s evenly blue now.

Does anybody have any other tips to help with evening sunscreen application? I have a stick sunscreen too but then you can literally see the line streaks.

PS: I use the Australian Blue Lizard SPF 50+ for sensitive skin.
