I’m counting down to three games: First Light, GTA 6, and Blackfrost.

GTA 6 is a given, it’s going to be massive and I’ll be there day one. Same with First Light, I’m really curious to see how that turns out.

But if I’m being honest, Blackfrost is the one I’m most excited for.

The Long Dark is one of the few games that actually feels like a piece of art, not just something you play and move on from. The atmosphere, the pacing, the way it trusts the player, it just hits differently, and is a game I just constantly comeback to cos nothing else even comes close to it in the genre.

I’m excited to see how Hinterland keep evolving their vision. There’s something about the way they approach survival that hits.

Excited for all of them, but Blackfrost just feels personal.

I’ve just died by repeatedly falling through ice. What are you supposed to do when you’re in the middle of what is a vast area of open ice. I tried desperately to get to the other side but kept falling through.
