Three Dog Night singing their "Mama Told Me Not to Come" in 1972...The Randy Newman song allowed them to showcase their breathtaking ability to compose 3 part harmonies....Negron, Hutton & especially Wells burn the stage down & they are pitch perfect long before ear mics..Brian Wilson protégés🔥

SRV and his idol/mentor Albert King on "Sessions" in 1983...King, known as the Velvet Bulldozer for being 6'5" and wearing bespoke velvet & polyester 3pc suits from Elvis' tailor in Memphis, The Lansky Brothers...Playing a hand-made Dan Erlewine Flying V in homage to his original 58 Gibson Lucy V🔥

I love the conversation they have before and after this song...Albert was such a cool mentor....and Stevie was a Texan to his core...humble and deferent to the people who had so inspired him to become a blues icon...the tone Albert had from his Gibson humbuckers was always bananas...

This guitar, dubbed "Lucy 2" after his original 58 had been stolen in the 60s, was made to his exact specifications and, as Albert described it, perfectly similar to his original beloved "Lucy." Which was named for Lucille Ball because Albert had a celebrity crush on her...Anyhow, Dan Erlewine had a huge slab of 125 black walnut that he cut to make Albert's "Lucy 2." He also inlayed Alberts name onto the fretboard in mother of pearl and "Lucy" on the headstock instead of Gibson..though all the pots, caps, hw and pickups were all standard issue 1958/59 era Gibson...also, it was the first truly left handed Flying V Albert owned...Prior to that, he had played all his Gibson Vs upside down..

Dwight Yoakam singing "I Sang Dixie" in 1988 with an introduction by Buck Owens..His musicality is superb and delivery of "Bottle had robbed him of his Rebel Pride" is glorious...It takes a special performer and songwriter to bring the house down with just them and a guitar..& at Buck's request🔥🔥

Dwight Yoakam and Buck Owens singing a duet version of Owen's 1972 hit "Streets of Bakersfield" at Austin City Limits in 1988...The 2 part harmonies are exquisite and this song brought Buck Owens out of retirement...he still sounded as good as he did in the 60s and 70s imho...Dwight was a meteor 💫

Me wearing my Lone Ranger outfit in the 1970s in front of our glorious Austin stone & canary yellow house...I wore it regularly for almost a year straight...even to church...though I was not yet page turning for my mom, who was the pianist, in this outfit...I reckon she would've said no to that🤘🤠

Elvis singing "A Little Less Conversation" in 1968...The model/actress is Celeste Yarnall of [minor] Star Trek fame to us Trekkies...Funny enough, Elvis is asking her to talk less yet she doesn't say a word...lol...Also, the dude dancing at 1:10 is Old-School-Cool...The 67/68 Chrysler Imperial🤌🤌

George Michael's talent is breathtaking...and perhaps the only person I consider to have Elvis-tier charisma....If you can make Seal and David freaking Bowie watch u at a rehearsal then you are absolutely Old-School-Cool...not to mention George began writing number 1 songs at age 19...dude was off-the-charts talented both as a performer and songwriter...he was a brilliant song-writer imho...I digreas...George and Wham! had often performed a cover of this song...so he knew it cold...Brian May wanted him to front Queen after Freddie's death...
