Switching from Lexapro to Effexor (Plan)

Hello, Maybe there is somebody in here who can give me some Insights about my current Situation. I just agreed with my psych, to Switch from Lexapro (15mg) to Effexor ( i think it will be 112 for the next time)

Ive been taking Lexapro for almost 13 years and so im concerned about switching it out of my System.

My Psych told me, I Should taper off and in the Same time up the Effexor Like this:

First 4 days 10mg Lex and 37,5 eff

Next 4 days 5 mg Lex and 75 eff

Next 4 days 0 mg Lex and 112 eff

The change Should Benefit my Panic and Depression, so the anxiety in my Head is worried about this Speedy Switch.

Would this be a Common way in your opinion. Or is the Serotonin Effect of Effexor Helping in quickly substituting the lost Lexapro.

Thank You very much

Greetings from germany

Pls. Can someone give me a Tip

I am pretty desperated Right now. I‘ve done a lot of therapy in the last years (since a set back with my panic in 2019). I‘ve been on lexapro Right now (15 mg and Valdoxan 50 mg - 25 mg since dec and 50 mg since 5 weeks). My Anxiety is becoming worse, I Cant work or Go Shop without becoming very anxious (panic). my Depression becoming very Bad and im very Tense

Is there a Option from your experience, which I can discuss with my Psych on Monday (I want to Go there as an emergency)

The last time before taking Valdoxan, the other Option was Wellbutrin. I think she will suggest that on monday.

My Problem with that is that I think that the Dopamin will help me. The Valdoxan pushed my positivity in the First weeks. But I think the anxiety will become worse because of the time Wellbutrin.

What can I do now - is Buspar a Solution or any other med you now.

I would be very thankful for that

PS: I got some emergency Promethazin /Atosil at Home. I Never Took it - can it bring me down in Form of Depression / Tension tonight ?

Hi Guys,

Im from Germany and been suffering from anxiety and some Kind of Depression since 2014. Im currently on Escitalopram 15mg (Citalopram since 2014 then switched to Escitalopram in 2021) and since Nov 2025 on Agomelatin/valdoxan 25 mg - i Upped The Dose to 50 mg 29 days Ago.

Im a bit desperate because my Anxiety is still going strong - and I only read Bad Reviews about valdoxan - Like it doesnt do anything for anxiety.

The only up side of these 4 Weeks is lifting up my anhedonia. Which is nice to feel some form of Joy.

Is there a recommendation you Guys can give me. Should I wait Till week 6 for the anxiety to get better ? What are the alternatives in my Case ? My Psychiatrist told be about bupoprion but im Afraid it will up my anxiety Even more.

I would be thankful for any advice. PS: yes I ve been in Therapy Couple times but im only allowed in September to Go again
