Is AI acceptable in this case?

As the title says, I have put here 3 AI generated photos, that I plan to use as first photos in my Etsy, and 3 corresponding real photos. I put all of my effort in making sure AI is not changing the product per se.

Initially I planned on not using AI at all, I was very concerned about people's trust in the shop, but then I saw that the biggest competitor for my niche uses almost 90% AI generated ones (and this is a really big shop with tons of reviews). It seems a bit unfair, cause this is my parent's shop and they can only take photos in their houses, which ofc will not have the same luxury vibes of the product (and of the AI generated competitors).

Honest opinions? I would still put 6-7 100% real images after the AI ones, plus the video. The AI ones would be of use just to make a coherent shop aesthetic and to avoid the vibe of 1990's house that mines are giving away.

Thank you!!

Feedback on recently opened small embroidery family shop

Hi everyone! I'm writing for Feedback Friday.

I’d really appreciate some honest feedback on my Etsy shop (https://ricamificiotesta.etsy.com).

I’ve already made a round of improvements based on previous Reddit advice (especially on titles and tags, they are not perfect yet, but I’ve reworked most of them), and I’d love a fresh set of eyes.

Quick context:

This shop is something I’m building for my parents. They run a small family embroidery business in Italy and have always worked B2B. This is the first time they’re trying to sell directly online. So we’re basically learning everything from scratch.

What I’d love feedback on:

  1. Pricing: This is my biggest doubt. The current prices don’t leave a huge margin for my parents, but I’m aware they might still feel high for Etsy. We’re open to lowering prices initially to get the first sales and build traction. Does that seem necessary based on what you see?

  2. Shipping: At the moment shipping is:

- Free in Italy

- EU: ~15–20€ (real cost range)

- Outside EU: ~50€

The high international cost is honestly because I’m afraid of losing money on shipping. Does this kill conversions? Any better strategy here?

  1. Listings (titles, tags, descriptions): I’ve tried to optimize them after previous feedback. Do they feel clear and searchable now, or still too “off”?

  2. Photos & product presentation: Do they communicate quality and value? I know these can be vastly improved but I live abroad and my parents are sending me the photos. I try to do what I can with some tools I have (Photoshop) and their photos.

  3. Products themselves: Right now, these are mostly traditional/luxury embroidered items they already had ready. They are clearly made for a certain luxury/vintage niche, would you personally consider them worth buying? We do plan to add more modern / entry-level products, but this is our starting point. I already tried adding lace by the meter and some small pieces to give people a chance to try the products without paying too much.

Overall: If you landed on this shop as a customer, what would stop you from buying?

I’m trying to understand what works and what doesn’t before we expand further, so any direct and honest feedback is super valuable.

Thanks a lot!
